If the owner of the car lent an unlicensed person the car to drive, and that person gets into the accident, the insurance company isn't required to cover it. This totally makes sense to me because I couldn't figure out how she'd have her own insurance but no license. Insurance companies just don't give insurance to unlicensed drivers.

I talked to my lawyer today over the phone. I told him the basic story about what happened, and he said it'd be a difficult case to fight, but then I told him she didn't have a license and he changed his tone completely. So I guess that's a good thing. I'm hoping the police report is as on my side as the police were that night.

I wish there was a witness.
