Because I live in the mountains and it snows here, and the Mazda was cheap, had great reliability reviews, and gets 30mpg on the highway, 24 around town, and gives me the utility that I have come to love in an SUV. Building my first house in the next year or two, Debt/Income ratio is first and foremost in my mind, and AWD and ground-clearance of an SUV are mandatory.
We had a 2014 CX-5 2.5L and really liked it. After adding an inexpensive Rockford 10" sub, prebuilt from them with amplifier, the stock stereo didn't sound 1/2 bad.

Good to know! I'm not much of an audiophile, and the stock sound system causes me no angst, though. Glad to hear another happy owner. I just bought based on CR report ratings. I had ignored them with Infiniti, Nissan, and Jeep, and each time it bit me...so this time I listened.
