subtract for competitive market share price - if going after the dumb brz/frs market?

i'd say base at 35k top end 45/50k I hope not more

anything over 50k then you might as well us it as a down payment and snag a GT-R. 14/15 MY are runnin low 80s all day at the auction with 2k miles.

yea i'd say 35-45 is doable... like you said anything over that would be pushing it and in my opinion not worth it.

the sticker price on my 13 was 29,500

It all depends on how they plan to do the Z.
If they go 2 motor (4 banger T/NA & V6TT) I could see a 25k starting price for the low end Z to get people in, then for the TT you jump up to 35k and performance (Nismo) 40-45k starting price and all staying under 50k. Anything over that you are approaching GTR and pushing the Z out of its class and we don't want another 300zx again.

100%

not a chance I would even consider the 4 banger. 400+HP TT V6 though.....take my money NOW lol factory boost that can probably get aftermarket bump to 600HP no problem.

Which Mercedes engine have they been showing off in the q60?
In any other production cars today?

based on early speculation of them sourcing the merc cla amg TT V6 and also a 4 banger from them as well could be true now that a 3.0L TT V6 (same as speculated) popped up in the Q60.

without no new name of the engine or specifics it's too hard to tell if Nissan actually built their own or outsourced. that is unless I've missed something or new news in the past 24 hours.

All I have read is the motor used in the q60 concept is the same as the one in the q80 minus the hybrid stuff.

I edit my previous post. I meant the 4banger was the CLA sourced. not sure about the V^ what car it was in.

and yea the Q60 is the stepped down version of the Q80. basically giving the structure I would imagine to the Z and GT-R relationship. R36 will most likely go with a hybrid set-up like all the other newer supercars.

i'll find that tt 3.0l somewhere lol

So where we spend 5k now for 30whp you can spend the same amount and get 100whp. Just because it has a TT kit does not mean it will be cheaper, I imagine the prices will actually go up for the v6TT parts. The majority of people will buy the lower end engine as it will be cheaper to buy into so 70% of parts will be made for it.
yea i can see that happening if they do roll out the two different engine choices.

i believe they out sourced it, but that's just my guess.

I wonder with Nissan going with another engine (Mercedes) if we could see the Z enter into production in the US for the first time.

With the launch of the 3.0-l V6 gasoline engine with direct injection and twin turbocharging, called M276 DELA 30, a new member has been added to the approved M276 V6 gasoline engine series, which effortlessly embodies the highest of comfort requirements, superior driving performance and efficiency. Its initial use was in the new Mercedes-Benz E 400 in spring 2013.

found it lol

it's the E class

I read on CarBuzz that the q60 has a direct injection TT V6. Sounds like the mercedes engine. However, the q60 is still a concept, so we can't say it will have that engine 100%. It is likely that whatever engine is in the q60 will make it to the next Z. Hope for the best!

In other news, the new NSX and Ford GT make my pants wet

Wow, everyone has been hoping that the next Z will have a turbo v6 in it and now that looks likely. I was all prepped for disappointment but am now getting a little bit hopeful/excited. I hope it looks sexy still and loses weight though it would be bad for my bank account.
