Started the process of painting my headlights yesterday and finished this morning. Right now I feel it kind of looks out of place with an otherwise stock car but once I get my other parts later this spring it should come together.

Change the oil at my DIY place, took about 15 minutes, but they charge by the hour($25)

Took more time to raise the Z, that changing the oil:driving:

Looks great! I don't think they look out of place, you just need to get used to them. I felt the same when I did mine, but now I think the stock chrome looks so bad, especially on black!

Thanks! Once I darken all the lighter colors on the car, I know it'll look pretty good. Right now I'm trying to decide if I should paint the door handles and emblems gloss, flat or matte black.

I tried plastidip on them first, liked the look but didn't like the peeling on the inside of the door handle,
Went with Evo r badges and cf door handle overlays and haven't looked back.

i need to do my headlights next, i want to do the projector and the amber signal thing in gunmetal tho

Yeah when I was picking up the paint for the headlights I picked up a can of plastidip so I can spray those parts and see how I like it and then take it off and paint them. I was thinking about doing the boomerang, turn signal and projector in gunmetal as well but I decided on a gloss black for those parts (mostly because I wanted to get it done this weekend and didn't want to wait for the gunmetal paint to come in) then matte black for the housing. The other thing I need to decide is if I want to powdercoat my wheel black or buy new wheels and if so which ones.

Nothing major, hood struts and 3# carbon fiber antenna, which surprisingly gets pretty good reception, but I use my iphone all the time anyway!

Here's the dyno sheet! I was happy the little dip around 4750 got smoothened out. I did notice a bit of dip under hard acceleration pre-tune and usually used it as a 'feel' indicator to shift at slightly spirited accelerations.

torque curve is smooth and flat. carries most of it through. HP gains were pretty much from that dip and carried right through. amazing difference you feel when opening up.

can't wait for warmer weathers to really get some spirited highway ramps :excited:

lol I guess I should upgrade the sticker first!

I was on the fence of getting hi-flo cats and headers before the tune but I opt'd not to. I'm happy with the current mods because if anything I'd go FI so I'd rather save til then :yum:

Well, the weather here was perfect... temps in the mid 70's, a little cloud cover mixed with sun... and me sitting at home doing nothing... so, I decided a little trip in the Z, newly equipped with Michelin Super Sports, would be in order... My GAWD those tires so improve the car's handling ... the Z seems to be on rails - 90 degree turns might as well be straight lines. The road trip, 45 minutes out and back on country roads and Interstate just made my day...I've been waiting so long to put these tires on the car (waiting on the Goodyear OEM's to expire), that it's almost like my birthday. Hah.. not to mention my garage smells of newly broken in tires... yeah, grinning ear to ear as I write this... :excited::driving::tup:

registered for the zdayz!

now I just need a warm day so I can do a full wash, clay, wax, interior clean and tire dressing.

probably do a quick wax job before the journey as well but then I think it won't really matter as the front will turn into a giant fly swapper.

yanked the trans, getting her ready for a Southbend Stage 3 flywheel/clutch setup.

ouch... I swiggle the gear shifter and keep the clutch down till the engine stabilizes instead of the crank and clutch drop.

hope the repair's won't be that bad. or maybe upgrade to a different bumper?

oh and I think you might want to check your alignment :S

You're not the first, and you won't be the last :twocents:

Good luck with the repairs.

D.Stillwell 04-08-2016 07:17 AM

^^ Sorry to hear....good luck with repairs!

This is why I never park in gear....

Besides that, got a set of new tires on, car is at 14k. Got direzza ZII star specs and will use the remainder of tread left on the crappy OEM RE050A's to do a nice drift and throw in trash

The car should have come with better tires OEM, at least something like the Yoko's on the Nismos....feels like a different car with proper tires

the 050's are not bad by any means. just loud.

I'm in a fkin bad position right now. trying to get new tires but where I am no one has the re11's in stock. I might have to settle with pss's... argh. my ears hurt from listening to all the ringing calling up shops lol

Changed the differential gear oil to redline 75 90,changed the tranny fluid to redline mt85, and bleed clutch over to motul 600. Thx to some great diy posts and help from friends. The test drive after was great nice firm feel to the clutch shifting is smoother. Well worth the time and effort. :tiphat: to those who's efforts made this almost easy thx
