Mothers Billet Metal Polish cleans and shines billet, forged, and finely cast aluminum, brass and all polishable metals. Professional detailers,

By far the best and easiest polish I have ever used. very gentle to the metal, requires very minimal pressure to work. wipes off easy and leaves no streaks or haze

:iagree: Nicely done :tiphat:

I cleaned ours with a 2-step polish after the first 20K miles of DD use by my wife. They came out looking like new with a little bit of elbow grease

On this I did, putting coilovers on and figured why I was down there put the Nismo cover on and it just kinda snowballed from there. Suspension wise, the cars are extremely easy to work on. After I get this buttoned up, going to give it a go with painting the calipers in a candy tangerine over a gold base and replacing the brake lines - then I'm done.

Changed the oil. Noted blown rear differential bushing.

Went to get my wheels balanced and noticed tread wear on the inner shoulders of both front tires. Looks like I have about two months left and will need to be replaced. ugh. I got 24k miles on them so far.

yep. definitely easy to work on, but that diff takes quite a bit of work. its something i left to a shop for once. literally the only thing i havent DIY, at least for the bushing part haha. you shouldve tackled that while you had the diff out!

ouch. another one bites the dust. get the whitelines and call it a day. it honestly changed the entire feel of the car. acceleration is so much smoother and linear now.

I did replace the bushings while the differential was out - drilled, used a hacksaw blade, improvised and made a press to get the new one in. When I opened up my Whiteline package the front bottom two bushings were split and the on one the hole was too big for the sleeve, apparently Whiteline had a bad batch sometime in production. I don't drive the car hard but figured while I had it out might as well do it.

BTW - Still drool over the new seats you bought... :happydance:

I have a call into the dealership on the off chance they might cover it under warranty at no cost to me. Otherwise it will be the whitelines and DIY. What makes you think it would be that difficult? Getting the bushing out might take a bit of effort, but I'm good at manhandling things :rofl2:

:ugh: I guess I'll have to make doubly sure they check my bushings before sending them out. I assume Joe@ZSpeed will be my best option like usual? It's gotten to the point where if ZSpeed has the product, I just stopped looking at competitor pricing because I know they won't beat Joe :icon17:

Drove down to the track to pick up my tickets for this evening. Hung around for an hour to check out some vendor booths and watch a few cars doing hot laps. Turned a few heads while leaving.

Not today, but last week I had Berk HFC's and a Borla TD exhaust installed and then tuned.

I just filled out the custom shock re-valve paperwork for my old Koni's. They should go out the beginning of this week and come back in a few weeks as a custom coilover setup.

I drove my Z across town to take a Bio course all morning and early afternoon, then drove home... got restless and went out for some fried chicken.

Are you suppose to mod your car daily, or is this more a what I did today thread? lol

Checked oil aftet the wash and it is getting close to L. Probably the slope on drive way so gonna check again in a few min. If still that low gonna dump a bit of oil to keep her heart safe.

SlowRollin 09-21-2014 03:48 PM

I got the ultimate upgrade today, a garage for my Z! A small investment of 65/mo to add it to my lease, but it's totally worth it for peace of mind. Let the OCD begin!

trackster22 09-21-2014 03:48 PM

Sunday fun

took the car out for a Sunday cruise around the town which I do almost every Sunday. Do the rest of you find that everyone wants to come up and "play" with you???? It seems like every dude in a Mini or a Suburu wants to get on my *** and drive crazy. I was cruising down the interstate about 90 and two little minis come up look over and floor their cars. I went up to 110 and then said screw them I don't need another speeding ticket.

We drove by there today, it looked like a mad house. Took the Z a nice drive down T past St. Albans, then through Washington, MO and back up highway 94.
