Found a use for the reflector...

I centered based on the width of whole sticker, now I feel like I should've centered the 129 part.

drool!!! MSRP?

I picked the bumper and red trim from Z1, here is a list of their current prices.

Front Fascia: $370
Front red pieces/finishers: $49 each
Running lights: $678 each
Front Nismo emblem: $110

That being said. Juan@Fontana says he can beat those prices, plus, there are some additional grilles and protectors that need to be ordered to complete the bumper. I'm going to order those from him. Here is his thread.

It was a mad house! My son had a school pottery project he worked on yesterday and today. Had to bring it home today. So glad I was there only an hour. That's a beautiful route and you had a beautiful day for it.

Not today, but a few days ago i was sitting in the parking lot at school waiting for someone to leave and some girl reversed her dodge ram into my front bumper, hood and headlight. :(

I just couldn't shift into reverse fast enough, and she was looking out her side window the entire time she was reversing. :( :(

It's not even noon and I've already scanned the classified list 3 times. I don't even know what I'm looking for. I guess I'll know it when I see it.

on my dd i use a wire brush to remove surface rust, clean it off, and apply some duplicolor engine enamel black spray. thing sticks well without primer.

on all the exposed bolts and nuts you can apply a light coat of engine oil.. just use a rag and wipe on. dont spray WD40 on it cause it might get into the threads and loosen it. lol

Proved to the world that I have better brakes than a bro-truck. Now I get a new rear bumper, electronic assembly, tail lights, etc. Fun stuff!

Apparently not. The bushing is part of a cross member that is not covered under the powertrain warranty. So a <$100 part that is made of rubber and therefore prone to failure is embedded inside a $900 cross member part which costs $1600 in labor. Nice work, Nissan :gtfo2:

On the bright side, I will be ordering the Whiteline bushing for an upgrade  DIY I guess since everyone wants $1000 minimum for labor...

The road is full of bad drivers..... sorry to hear about the accident.. I just hope the other guy doesn't say you backed into him :shakes head:

JARblue 09-23-2014 02:44 PM

Ordered a set of Whiteline differential bushings. Found a Z shop nearby that will do the install for $270. He said he has a tool that just requires removal of the diff and almost no suspension parts and saves about 5 hours in labor

bring it to any reputable shop. shouldnt charge more than 4hours of labor. my local Z speciality shop said they do them in 3hours flat

edit. saw your above post after posting. good job! 270 is a totally fair price as itd take you 6-8hours to do it on jackstands/your back

Since everyone loves pics... There's more damage, especially behind the bumper, but this is the most apparent.

Rolled 310,000kms today! :)

mishuko 09-24-2014 08:54 AM

Played arts and crafts with my Z's hatch! I got some 3m sound dampening mats to start. Lined the wells, put some on the flooor and also on the bumper wall. To my surprise the panals had some 'cotton like' gauze / padding on some of it but not fully lined. Also noticed there were a few 'patches' of something as well. I'm assuming it was used to help dampen sounds. I did a few 'tap' tests to find hollow area's or ding areas and focused on covering those places. It became a lot more dampened after application.

I did go on a test drive and was a little less noisy from the rear but the real test will be a rain-weather drive. Next step is to save up some more doe to grab a megapack of husmat or something and fully line the trunk area. Work in progress as life goes on!

Some brands like Hush Mat you don't need a roller, is super easy to go down.

Didn't use a roller, used a handle of my scissors to get into the wedges and then a card thingie (those plastic dry wall paste appliers?) to smoothen the surface. Lots of hand action too!

The good thing about the 3m brand is it was maleable and stretched to conture into all the nooks and crannies and bumps. I'm going to have to more than likely make some cuts into the foam after applying the hushmat so the plastic fenders can fit back in.

It's actually pretty fun... and looking at some of stuff you guys have done in the past I'm in the 'more is better' category too! lol That extra weight will keep my tires contacting the pavement haha
