My buddy says he thinks he can buff it out. The part on the A-pillar is just a scuff, not into the paint (from what I can feel/see), so I may be lucky.

Just gotta schedule a session this weekend for him to swing by.

That is good to hear

I tested crc maf cleaner on painted nissan surface.

Did not damaged the paint. Means can be used for tar removal. :p
Cheaper and readily available vs RC car motorspray. :D

Try at your own risk.

Today, the Z and I came to work. We had gone on a 10 day Motorcycle trip, and the Z sat, covered in the garage under her 40th ann. cover, begging to get out and drive. Looks like I am going to have to order new head lights. I got a ticket for "tinted lights" and need to get that singed off, Any options?

kenchan 09-10-2014 10:56 AM

Is the lens tinted with paint? Use thinner and remove.

Great news! I never had one that I could postpone. I sure envy you!

I guess if you know what your doing this would be a simple job but knocking out that differential bushing was a total PITA. Took drilling, cutting with a hacksaw blade and using a tool to finally push the bushing out for that. The part with cutting the outer shell with a sawzall did only take a few minutes. Now I can finally start putting stuff back together. That was this morning's job before work...

BarracoBarmer 09-10-2014 05:47 PM

FairladyZ10PG 09-10-2014 05:53 PM

My baby went to the tint shop today. 20% on everything but the hatch, which is 15%.

Also, if you're looking closely you'll see the Z logo embedded in the tint. My tint guy got a little creative and wanted to try it. I gave him the go ahead. What do you guys think? He said if I didn't like it he'd take it off and retint it for me. I think it's pretty neat, but I'm waiting for it to cure until I make up my mind.

[Wednesday]

Apparently I ran a red light, in front of a bunch of people that pointed and a motorbike cop felt obligated to track me down and pull me over.

Advised him that I thought it was yellow when I entered the intersection and got a "slow down" warning. :icon17:

The whole traffic stop was ~2 minutes.

jpkirk 09-11-2014 09:08 AM

Talking sense to cop, how unique.

Got into a highway race when a Misubishi Eclipse with v8 and a truck I had overtaken at 85 mph decided to race and went by me. At about 110, the small truck quit but I followed the Mitsubishi for about 40 miles at 120 till we had to slow down for traffic and I weaves my way ahead.

I know, at 65,I should know better. Sure got home quicker than I normally do. I won't do it again.

V8 Eclipse huh? That's not one I have heard of before. Most of them just build the hell out of the 4G63. Any idea on what was swapped in there? Probably just an LS...

Are you out of your senses or just fvcking stupid? My vote is both. Street racing in any form is one of the most idiotic endeavors known to man. Having lost friends who were innocent victims of people like you, I am disgusted.

Further, it is not only bad form to engage in this, but posting your exploits in sheer stupidity is against forum rules.

Reported.

I would pile on DA of the Week but that has been handled quite well.

Hopefully I can get my car in for a wash early tomorrow. Maybe shampoo the carpets.

First, wrong choice of words on my part. Just going fast, never side by side, just 5 car lengths behind each other but hit 120 on emply 4 lane highway that was very straight. Second, I apologize for posting and offending some of you. No one was in any danger. Third, even with all that, it was stupid. I was just going straight at about 90 when the truck and eclipse overtook me, followed them in straight line for a few miles, then followed the Eclipse, not attempting to overtake till traffic came into view, slowed down.

My sincere apologies for calling it racing. It was driving fast.

I'll be installing Swifts and some slotted StopTech rotors this weekend. Really looking forward to it. Next weekend it's to the alignment shop!

S'alright.

There are a lot of overreactions on this forum about driving fast next to another car.
