Right?

Haha. It's not been like this in such a long time though. We used to get good rains like this every year, then it stopped for a decade or so... no one is used to it anymore.

im sure water is welcome in the desert, so  atleast keeps the air nice and clean? :D

Haboob 09-08-2014 11:03 AM

It does, for now, but also brings on a ton of humidity. It's till 105+ out. The humidity won't be welcome once the clouds roll out and allow the sunlight in.

Pintsize, I was actually going to ask if I should just have my rotors turned and get new pads OR get the blank rotors Z1 sells and get new pads.. Decisions.

Unless you know a shop that has a brake lathe well and will let you just trim the rotors, most shops cut them straight to minimum thickness. It's always better to replace rotors rather than have them turned. Great time to upgrade to drilled & slotted.

I don't track my car at all so there's really no point in spending twice as much to get drilled and slotted even though they look nice.

[QUOTE=kenchan;2957037]that sucks. :( yah, i suppose give the aftermarket a shot then if you cant
pay the difference. :)[QUOTE]

difference is going to be over 1k... :shakes head: don't think it's worth it since i plan on doing some work this month to enjoy before she gets parked for what will seem an eternity and half.

i see.. even if the aftermarket is bad, you can still buy the oem one later, i guess, without making much of a difference in total price spent. :icon17:

kenchan 09-08-2014 11:48 AM

I'm editing High Plains Raceway track video from my "TRACK ADDICT" app.

A buddy and I took a girl from work out in his Audi and I followed in the Z as she CRAWLED around the course. She rode with me in the Z for a few laps and said "Your crazy!! I don't think I want to ride with you again" (I was rolling at about 8-9/10ths lol) The track *was* a bit wet and we did get a LITTLE loose a time or two, but never left control.

We take it for granted what an exiting ride the Z can be to the uninitiated!

That seems so sad to me. Enjoy the next few weeks and hope for an early spring!

Positive thinking man... I like it. I have something to do too... it's hibernate! :ughdance:

Back on topic... put in an order for the Stillen Gen3 + exhaust at a local shop (I try support the locals ya know?) but apparently they are back-ordered at Stillen. Hopefully I'll get them in sooner than later but worst case is they will arrive when it's time to park the car and I'll get them installed in the new year.

super excited now... I love the tone of the stillen (not too loud not too soft) and the intakes are self explanatory... :yum::yum::yum:

kenchan 09-08-2014 06:26 PM

sounds good, mishuko. :excited:

mab864 09-08-2014 06:46 PM

Just picked up a set of Swift lowering springs for the car and will have them installed this weekend. I'll drive around for a little while and let them settle in and then have the alignment done. Should be fun!

Gadgetech 09-08-2014 08:22 PM

Upstate Z Club meeting.

Pintsize725 09-08-2014 08:24 PM

Hardware kit is in. About to pack up to get ready to head out first thing in the morning.

370z_Roadster 09-08-2014 08:31 PM

Today I tore into my Roadster's storage compartment for the Convertible Top. Found a styrofoam insert and once it was removed, I found the perfect spot for a 8"Bazooka Tube Sub. Quite surprised at the amount of room in there. There are actually 6x9 cutout's in there as well. Should easily sound better than the 10" square sub box that is taking up half of my trunk.

3rdDanZ 09-08-2014 08:58 PM

Took my car to Nissan for new all-season summer tires install (had 50% left, but had the tires on hand), ordered NISMO 2 side graphics, dropped in K&N's, finished my 21K or so inspection, re-tinted back window (had a small rear window tear from hauling a sharp metal object that shook), changed oil (even-though it wasn't due), bought a GTR cap & an official Nissan emergency road kit (just in-case)...Oh, & test drove a C6 Corvette - didn't like it (the transmission was bad at 30K, & banged).

mishuko 09-09-2014 07:20 AM

My Z passed the 20k km mark last night on my cruise... it's so much fun to drive!

MadMan 09-09-2014 08:01 AM

Finally, after over a week, their Ins. Comp. approved the repairs this a.m.
Full amount of my shops estimate.
Rental car.
Diminished value (tbd) after repairs.

Now... must wait 2-4 days for parts to arrive.
7 to 10 days for repair.

Yay for the Z being the DD!

Yay for Tahoe's not knowing how to dodge debris and instead running it over and kicking it up into my car!

YAAAAYYYYY!

* The last two photos are parts not protected by the clear bra. :(

kenchan 09-09-2014 08:59 AM

:shakes head: dohhhh... :(

Haboob 09-09-2014 09:07 AM

I wonder if insurance would cover a clear bra? :icon17:

Otherwise she's gonna look ugly until I can afford a new one in a couple of years. :(

kenchan 09-09-2014 09:12 AM

they should. just tell the claims adjuster or bodyshop appraiser guy u got clearbra on there. :D

Haboob 09-09-2014 09:15 AM

If it doesn't come out, I'm hoping they'll respray the hood and then I'll pay the extra to get the whole hood clear bra'd the next time around.

Or just sell the car and get something else. :icon17:

Pintsize725 09-09-2014 09:34 AM

Sorry for your Z damage, Boobz.

Pintsize725 09-09-2014 09:34 AM

Arrived at the shop at 9 this morning. I've been up since 6 and am ready for a nap.

They do cover it. Wife needed a new bumper for her SUV and they paid to have bra put back on. ( twice!)

Damn, sorry to hear about this incident.

yah, im sure they will take care of you, haboob. kinda a big waste of money selling your car for new just for that! unless youre having other issues or have another car you really want in mind.

How'd it go? Did you pass your inspection yet?

Checked the tires today... front right was at 32... pumped to 36.5 lowered my left from 37 to 36.5. Rears were even at 37.5. Spare was 32 so I pumped it to 60.

Quick question on the spare... do you inflate to recommended on the side wall or do you underinflate? If you do underinflate to what pressure? It was such a pain to get to and hope to never have to use it.

Pintsize725 09-09-2014 06:27 PM

Yup passed inspection yesterday and just now driving home from the install. I went ahead and splurged with the Uprev tune. :excited:

She sounds so :yum: now. I'll try to upload the one video I took once I'm at my laptop.
