Hey, somebody come and touch me so you can take all my bad luck away.....LOL I dare ya.

We both will be fine eventually. It's life, when it feeds you lemons, you make lemonade. I think I will get her a Nissan GTR sometime in the future so I can drive it every now and then... I love my 370z Nismo too much to have anything else.

I did a couple of simple mods today.

For those of you who haven't done this yet, I strongly recommend that you do. The mods are simple and easy to do. It took me about 10 minutes as I was taking my time.

I am going to install my audio equipment tomorrow. Hope everything goes well.

I will post pics when I do.

Took a trip down to RJM Performance and met Ryan, great guy and I love my first real mod, AFP 3.1 Clutch, what a difference! :)

Well it is not a mod per say, but I changed the frosted dome lights for clear ones.
I was also planning on putting LEDs but then I changed my mind.

You probably have the frosted ones if you haven't changed them. I paid 26 dollars for the pair. A bit of a rip off, but they used to be 20 some dollars for each a few of years back.

Those are GTR map lights. A required mod. Looks so, much better.

Now you need to change those bulbs to LED's.

I might do that eventually, but first I want to see how bright the interior is at night.
I know LEDs are cheap, but I kind of like my retro old style regular lights.

They have warmer LEDs, which more closely mimic the incandescent lights.

Another one bites the dust....seems this is becoming more common as the cars age.....http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...deb019d340.jpg

Oh, I wasn't aware of that. That could work actually. Do you know what they are called? Manufacturer?

Saturday garage day

1 Attachment(s)
Spent most of Saturday with the Z. First up, oil change with Nissan Ester, new crush washer and filter. Second, replacing the worn Oem front chin spoiler. Lastly, wash with chemical guys V07 in the foam cannon, two bucket wash with V07, wiped down with Griots Garage speed shine detailer, chemical guys natural tire shine, chemical guys bare bones undercarriage, and finished off with Griots garage spray wax.

I bought various bulbs from Diode Dynamics. They are a little pricey compared to others, but in my opinion, they are worth it.

I concur. These are two great mods to do. The GT-R start button just looks SO much better as do the dome light (map light) lenses.

As for what I did with my Z today?... I finally drove it for the very first time in the dark. The headlights look great, throw a nice wide, long pattern and are pure white.

And also for a first, noticed just how much brighter the map lights are now with those GT-R lenses. What a difference!

And speaking of the map light, I noticed a little orange LED up there in the map light as well. What's that for? All I noticed that it does is cast a very soft, very dim orange glow on the center console/HVAC dials. Not really enough to do anything. But it's a nice little touch I suppose.

It's meant to help light up the shift knob at night in case you forget where the shifter is

Rolled the odometer over to 10,000 miles on Friday night. Parked her for the weekend. Traffic too crazy here.

Hit the Hudson Valley farm roads with my buddy today, me in the Z and he in his RX8.

Good times!

cinderblocked 07-10-2016 06:32 PM

Tore apart my new bumper to find out why only the drivers side daytime running light (DRL) is illuminated, even though the new Carbonsignal DRL on both sides were wired identically..

anyone know what could cause only the passenger side to go out?

The bottom plug harness on the drivers side DRL is probably loose or disconnected. Had that happen once recently. Though it could be either side as they are wired together.

Where in the Hudson valley? I spent some childhood years in the Highland Falls area. Storm King Mountain and Bear Mountain would be nice rides I imagine.

Nice clean work you did! BTW do the steering wheel controls work with it?

the plug harness is a little connector just behind the DRL themselves? if so.. I may have removed that entirely. suggestions?

Yes, everything works like it should. I got pretty much everything that I needed to set up my radio and steering wheel controls from crutchfield.

Overall, I am very happy.

ChaseZ 07-11-2016 11:50 AM

Been tweaking the suspension. Went up a little and pretty happy with it as is now.
Should allow me to pull in a bit of the negative camber in the rear as well.

Edit: looking at the pic, which was half way through a shakedown run, it seems to be sitting a hair lower back in my garage. BC's are a pain to adjust, they settle like mad no matter what you do. Raise half and nch, you'll get a quarter out of it.

Yes it is right behind the DRL themselves, towards the bottom. Think it was light blue or something like that. One of these days I need to pull my bumper cover off to do my oil cooler so can take a pic for you if you think it would be helpful. I had put a jumper on mine from that connector up to the parking light so my DRL's would stay on with my headlights. Only had to jump one side and both worked, which is how I know they are wired together.

I don't believe your DRL wouldn't work at all if that connector was removed.

If you want pics or anything else when I've got it off send me a PM so I don't forget and may not see a response in this thread.

And went and got the Fast Intentions Resonated High Flow Cats installed on Saturday. The day after the accident. Connected to AAM S-Line midpipes and short tails.

The tires are pretty meaty for the rims so didn't need quote as much spacer

Sorry QuZang. That really stinks.
I was sitting in a jughandle earlier this week and noticed the Civic in front of me had their reverse lights on. Eeeek! I almost got out of the car to knock on his/her window. Was relieved that they realized what gear they were in before the light changed and they hit the gas.

Dutchess and Columbia counties - the state and county roads are in good shape as compared with the other counties nearby.

NRGz 07-13-2016 02:38 PM
