:icon14: Well, if it wasn't on the undershroud, it's possible it might still be wedged in the engine bay somewhere, if you didn't already dislodge it. I'd be tempted to take a closer look with a flashlight and have a telescoping magnetic tool handy for retrieval. Or easy enough to replace it.

ChaseZ 05-09-2017 07:32 AM

Or it's now in the middle of the street somewhere

Picked myself up a replacement radiator and will be installing this weekend :)

I took the rest of the week off so I went over to my parents to use their garage to install my eBay test pipes. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I sprayed the demon nuts down with penetrating oil and then took my dad's truck to go pick up a few tools and some lunch. After that the bolts only gave us a little bit of trouble but they came off fairly easy.

I love the new sound, the CNT CBE that I have was way too quiet for my taste. The test pipes make it just right, the only thing I want to change now is to put in an X-pipe to replace the H-pipe.

Good choice of color, works well under the hood.

I wasnt sure if I was going to hydro dip the intake in CF or go with the burnt copper. Both would probably look pretty cool but I decided that the copper wrapping around the right side of the engine with the piping etc would look pretty cool.

It gets better as it ages a bit too with some hot/cold cycles - right now it's a little too sterile clean looking.

With the car being black I think you made the right choice.

I changed my windshield wipers out this morning. It is the first time since I bought the car 4 years and 11 months ago. I doubt they have been changed since the car hit the lot lol!

Why? I didn't think there was such a thing as rain in AZ

I'm probably in a similar boat as I don't normally drive my Z in the rain so the most use the wipers get is during a washer fluid rinse.

I changed my fuel cap this morning... I occasionally get a P0456 code or a loose fuel cap warning... I assume the two are related. Changing out the fuel pump assembly gasket did not solve it, so hopefully the new cap will... Charcoal canister will probably be next if it resurfaces.

I probably haven't changed my wiper blades in nearly two years. A coat of glass sealant removes the need to use wiper blades in the rain and it lasts for months.

I don't have the washer fluid canister any more because twin turbo lol and even the track day in the rain I really only use them when sitting still because Rain X worked like a charm at speed on the track.

barncobob 05-11-2017 03:42 PM

i believe if u use a product like 303 u can gives the blades a once over to protect from heat/sun

AestheticCM1 05-11-2017 03:51 PM

I've replaced my wiper blades exactly once in 4 years.

I had a scary experience this morning in the Z. I was driving to work at about 5 AM and it started raining. I didn't think my tires were that bad but apparently they are. I started sliding around the road a little, so I slowed way down to about 35-40 mph. Even though I slowed down, my car spun out of control. Luckily, no one was around me or in the other lane and I was able to stop before I slid too far but then my car wouldn't start because I had about 3 dots on my gas meter, so you can only guess why. But I gave it a second and it started back up and I drove about 20 mph all the way to work. Definitely getting new tires very, very soon.

Happy to read that the Z and you made it out without any damage. Now comes the fun part, bringing your heart rate down and selecting a set of great tires.

Bit more color....http://www.the370z.com/members/chase...9-img-4062.jpg

DeliriousClam 05-12-2017 04:48 PM

I dig the color. IMO you should sand down the lines and "STILLEN" on the manifold back down to silver.

Nixin 05-12-2017 05:15 PM

ChaseZ, that looks outstanding.

I'm holding off on that but keeping it as an option. Want to wait and see once it's all together first.

ScottM 05-12-2017 08:06 PM

Looks great Chase.

Hotrodz 05-12-2017 08:08 PM

ChaseZ you had the parts hydro dipped?

Didn't dip these though I did consider it. Went with a baked VHT high temp coating. I really like their burnt copper. It will get a more natural look after a few heat cycles too.

Blower assembled, will just need to be clocked once my air to air kit shows up. The charge pipe and Tial will need Get the same treatment as well.

Ok, so I ended up exposing the Stillen logo. Guess there was a bug in my ear lol.
I didn't want it to stand out but certainly looks much more finished this way
