It slips the clutch quiet a bit stock, probably for the safety of the trans from when you let go of the brake to when it fully engages. I read that you can throw a tune on the trans which makes it really launch hard. Mk7s are fun cars, great hot hatch pick!

Picked up the cargo net as well to keep things in place. The rear hatch is almost usable now! :)

Where did ya get the net?

was in the shop for 3 months and finally got her back yesterday. Shaved OEM nismo front, and OEM nismo headlights.

barncobob 07-16-2016 10:50 AM

got same net off ebay, same price, really comes in handy at holding all those store items from going everywhere, fits perfect.

Nismo skirts

Swapped out stock side skirts for Nismo side skirts. Lines match the bumper much better. Can't beat OEM fit.

Thanks for the video. That's pretty cool.
They really make a huge difference in my view.

I'm a little slow :-). It took me about 2.5 hours. If I had to do it again then maybe 1 hour. I have some rug burns on my elbow and used a few choice four letter words. :icon17:

The RJM clutch pedal is on my list, but I'm gonna cheat and take a drive to Austin so JAR can put it on for me... then I'll be taking him and MrsJAR to dinner.

Funny you mention that, I was thinking today I could throw a blanket or something in the hatch to absorb some of the Motordyne exhaust! :icon17:

Mostly because it has a higher pitched tone to it since I pulled the CAI yesterday.

Been having an ongoing issue with the traction control freaking out everytime i drop down to third and pin the throttle so decided to take a look at the abs wheel speed sensor assembly and clean it out to see if it will alleviate the issue....this is from one front wheel http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...aed8267905.jpg

If that doesn't fix it, Amazon has the Beck Arnley wheel bearing assembly for about $96, free shipping if you are a Prime member (or have a Prime member :ugh2: )

Ghostvette 07-18-2016 08:10 AM

I had to clay the rear window, some kind of stuff that wouldn't come off with Invisible Glass. Much better now.

Decided to clean all the glass, inside and out. Wouldn't you know I missed a spot on the windshield up by the rear view mirror....:icon14:

Drove to work. I get this pop / back fire when I hit just under 3k rpm in a downshift... can't replicate that well sometimes it's cool sometimes it's silent. err lol. swapped to base map and I can still do it too hmmm

on another note harassing Gale for his slightly worn top secret oil cap...

edit: and only happens in a very small RPM range after a downshift. doesn't when i upshift and land in the 3k range. doesnt' happen if i downshift then gas /soft/hard. just letting the SRM do its job when I'm coming to a stop.

Hotrodz 07-19-2016 06:18 PM

Hot pipes and hard down shift with e85 equals pops and flames! Yup it's bad ***...
