Ouch, 2 lessons in one day. Take it to the track, it is safer/cheaper.

It was tough bringing myself to shove them in the oven! But, it was actually easy. I let them cook for 13 minutes at 250 degrees and the silicone was almost like butter lol. They came right apart with the help of a screwdriver. Im just nervous because I am not an artistic man so this paint job may not be great hhahaha.

And no halos for me, ive been thinking about if I was going to do that or not and decided I just want to go with the blackout look

One time, one of my wives came home (I think it was number 2) and she saw a big covered pot on the stove. She says "Yummy, you made dinner, what is it?".

"SU carburetor parts" I said.

This was a spur of the moment diy as my significant other is on vacation, otherwise this wouldve been a no go.

I once assembled a 240Z engine in my kitchen when Wife #1 was on a business trip. The lighting was better there.

Day 5, no Z. Finally got the call that a replacement TE37 cannot be found. Insurance will be reimbursing me for the cost of one wheel. Hopefully I'll have the car back soon, after the wheel discussion, I asked the gentleman the status of the car and was told that the wheel has to be returned from the repair facility and the car has to be "buttoned up." I wonder how many pieces it is currently in...

I was really hoping to have it back today, wheel or no wheel.

Got a ticket today, 41 in a 25, 256.00. When the cop walks back to my car, I thought he was going to tell me he's going to ticket me after taking my license registration etc... Well, he already has the damn thing printed. I told him "Would it help if I told you my Son in Law is a Cop in a neighboring area" he looks at me and says, well why didn't you tell me earlier? I said "I didn't know you'd computer print the ticket so fast"....Cop says "well I can't void the ticket"...oh boy. First speeding ticket and I've been driving nearly 45 years....guess I can't complain. My son in law told me yeah they stopped being able to void tickets because it was being abused...supposedly. I would have liked to abuse it today.
Laughs all around.

Your absolutely right it was stupid that's why I said I felt like a jackass. Definitely not worth it and can't afford to do it again. As for the post again you are correct. I haven't been a member for long and didn't remember that rule. I deleted the post. Lesson learned. My apologies.

Walked to garage, stared at it for a bit since I only had a 1/2 hour, cursed that I'm working 10 to 8 today and wondered when the hell I am getting a chance to put the thing back together. :shakes head:

Have fun with that! I do not have fond memories of when I dropped the trans. As I like to say, "I spent a full weekend under the car bench pressing a transmission." I had it on a jack, but man was it tough to get back in place. I'm sure I will have to do the CSC and probably an upgraded clutch at some point, I am not looking forward to it.
