Traded in my car for a base Rogue!

Not really. That's just the service loaner while my car gets some facial scars removed. Hopefully I'll have it back by the end of the week.

:eekdance: ....

oh... hope you get the scuffs fixed. :D are you getting clearbra installed as well?

davwak 07-21-2014 02:26 PM

Tested out the GoPro suction mount on the roof of the car and went out last night for a cruise. Nothing fancy in the editing, just sped up roughly 4x:

Scuffs, lol!

New front bumper, left fender, and fender liner. Left front wheel repaired or replaced. Left front tire replaced. Left hood and door edges repainted. Left headlight buffed and a four wheel alignment. That was just from the estimate.

No clearbra...

This was a Nissan shop. Hopefully they know more about body work than they did my car. The manager couldn't tell that it had the sport package. He didn't know that Rays is Japanese and when I told him my offset was +22 he gave me a strange look and asked, "would they know what that meant."

I took pictures of all my visible mods and gauge cluster and set up a semi-valet mode in Uprev. Can't go over 50 or 5000 RPM.

Edit, just got the call, new wheel it is! I wish them the best in finding a TE37.

kenchan 07-21-2014 04:26 PM

so you crashed into a tacohell drive thru or?

added air blue tint to the front windshield... cleaned the car.. but then it rained and is all dirty again. Will wash it again on Wednesday. Still on the fence on whether to just go buy swifts or not -_-

Today...ROAD TRIP! Had to take wife's escape about 120 miles away to get hail damage fixed...almost one year wait in our town due to major hail storm on June 12th. Pain to go that far yes, BUT that 240 mile round trip put me at 1270...break in is OVER. :happydance:

Lol, so it didn't rain on my car I cleaned yesterday...today's road trip did her in...bugs, bugs, bugs EVERYWHERE!

I discovered the joys of gps tracking to log acceleration data.

Washed/waxed:

Got my first pair of driving shoes:

Out with the heavy:

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps28fea111.jpg
^A really strong setup that went really low and really loud. But I seldom used its full potential and the ~90 or so pounds was ever-present. (A lot of 3/4" MDF in that slot-ported enclosure)

In with the much-less-heavy:
http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...psd896a48b.jpg
http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...psba5cb61d.jpg

Sub and amp < 10lbs together.

I'm thoroughly impressed with the little 6.5" Tang Bang sub. It doesn't have the extension or the SPL of the 10W6 with 500 watts, but it does get nice and low and has output that I would expect from a decent 8" sub. (13mm X-max from this thing!) My system now sounds like what I think a good stock system should sound like in the first place.

..And I shaved a good chunk of weight off the car.

MadChemist 07-21-2014 08:37 PM

Took the car in for an alignment and then installed footwell lighting

kenchan 07-21-2014 10:31 PM

Removed weights, center caps, and valve caps, cleaned the barrels of my nismo wheels. :D

AlexRaymond19 07-22-2014 06:04 AM

Started installing quaife diff last night! Only took 45 mins to drop the exhaust, brace a sway bar. Ran out of light...

And did you get a code after taking the TBs off and cleaning them?

Good call

I did get a code at first, but that's only because one of my MAF sensors wasn't plugged all the way in. After clearing that, no issues. Neither of the other two cars had any codes thrown either.

It is the relearning process. Mine was still doing it yesterday. If it starts doing it when you turn the car on, just let it finish and settle down. I was worried something might be wrong with mine because it did it for about 5 minutes the first time I turned the car on. But it finally settled down and is driving fine :driving:

Still odd that Ike's didn't do this though.

Silly Rabbit 07-22-2014 10:11 AM

Thanks to Corner3Garage, I have springs, spacers and camber arms on the way. Also working on picking up a NISMO bumper conversion kit this weekend from a forum member.

kenchan 07-22-2014 10:38 AM

Well it kind of did... just one time though. Mine did it for several minutes (like 15-20 cycles in a row) on multiple starts. I'm no expert, but I think everything is fine :icon17:

mr.jar. aha.

btw, wat exactly did you use to clean the MAF sensors?

Brad Edwards 07-22-2014 11:03 AM

today, what did I do with my Z today? - I let SDPD inspect if for "Modification Violations" the cops are doing a sweep in San Diego for illegally modifications and cars, and mine and beautiful done 40th apparently fits the profile. I wasn't profiled, the Z was.

the officer got his measuring stick out, check the ride height on all four corners and center, ask that I open the hood and show him the engine bay, but that I needed to remain in the car while he inspected. He did touch anything, but he did look very closely.

He did give me a "Fix it" ticket - No Front License Plate. Can you beleive it, No front plate, 25 minutes of this guy crawling up my FI exhaust pipes and out my air clearners and he gives me a ticket for No Front License plate.

I guess I should feel lucky, it could have been worse, but does anyone have a MowerAxle front license plate holder for sale? It apprears I will be needing one.

All Z'd Up, and pulled over to go...

CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner for the MAF sensors - we had actually done this several months ago.

CRC Throttle Body Cleaner for the TBs.

Don't forget to have the weights replaced/tires rebalanced!

MadChemist 07-22-2014 03:28 PM

Attempted to install 8k HIDs only to find out that one of the bulbs shipped was damaged. Hopefully JWmotoring can help me out even though I bought the bulbs about two months ago.

Nothing with the Z but I did turn 40 today!
