Went over to one of my friend's place the other night to check out the paint job he's done on my Shine Auto rear spats that I got with my Nismo wheels. They look great and can't wait to install them, though it'll be a month or more out since I drop off the Z at the dealership the second week of Jan to have them repaint the front and rear bumpers (factory known issue of the paint chipping off where the bumpers meet the fenders). It's only taken them 7 months to get around to doing it... Schmucks.
Also, went to another friend's personal shop last night (complete with above ground Atlas lift). He typically works on high dollar hot rods and old VW Bugs. Anyway, with a big 3/4" ratchet drive and a couple of 1/2" x 10" extensions, we were able to break loose the demon bolt on the driver's side. On the passenger side, we ended up snapping two sockets, a Snap-On and a Craftsman. It was getting late so we snugged the driver's side one back down and will be attacking it again this Wednesday. He told me I'm not leaving Wednesday until my exhaust is making noise! LOL Here's a pic of the spats before paint. He did a lot of prep to get these nice and smooth. Over the next couple of weeks, he'll take a little time here and there to wet sand them to match the rest of the car. http://charlest.zenfolio.com/img/s3/...92876922-5.jpg |
25mm wheel spacers all around. I feel like it looks better, but makes my wheel gap much more pronounced. I have a set of SWIFTs in a box that will go in someday... Anyone here running swifts with 25mm spacers? Any concerns with rubbing?

Temporarily fixed axle clicking on driver side of the Z, strangely enough the passenger side axle nut was nice and tight where as the driver side was able to be turned with only a quarter of my body weight on the torque wrench. Guess we'll see how long she holds like that.

Did you use the kawasaki nut? |
Passenger side window was stuck in the up and locked position. Did not drop 3/8 of an inch when the door opened. Total lock. Tried to reset multiple times and nothing. Checked the fuse and all was good. Last step before heading to the stealership was the battery terminal disconnect. It worked! So for future consider the battery to reset when all else fails.

Mine went on a temporary weight loss program :D

Found a place to custom print and cut a vinyl print of my license plate for the front. Half an inch smaller on all sides. We shall see how it looks.

I was pulling out of my driveway at 6 AM this morning in my 240Z and my exhaust note set off the Juke's alarm... The same thing happens in parking garages occasionally. |

P.S. Retorquing the axle nut seems to have remedied my problem with the traction control going off when punching the gas from a cruising speed. |

turned wheels by hand and checked for any sign of mouse. sat in da Z for a while (like 5 sec) and remembered I should probably get another V1 dedicated to my GTI when I saw the empty blend mount. :ugh:
den covered her up again. |

Was supposed to be pretty warm this weekend, instead it started snowing yesterday morning and hasn't stopped yet!
Getting her all mocked up... :) http://www.the370z.com/members/chase...354-mockup.jpg That charge pipe isn't staying, just helping to sort a few things out. |
I pulled the fuel pump assy to attempt the idle pressure fix (not sure if I succeeded).. Lots to do with the car this break!

I think I found the cause of my car pulling to the right. One of my rear wheels has much more negative camber than the other :icon14:

So it rained out here in SoCal and did not want to let the water dry on the car. I cleaned the car while raining a bit and actually feel good that I did. I later realized how the Z has better quality MF towels than I do.
No more towels for you!!!! |
