I can't believe they towed it without the wheels being on the car, how inconsiderate of the housing complex. Wouldn't it be readily apparent that the wheels were clearly stolen off the car and that it may have been a tenants.

See if you can get a lawyer to fight for your case.

Sorry to hear OP, Sucks to see people dont respect another persons things. There were a bunch of wheels being stolen as well in the gated "private" garage at the complex I just moved out of. The management company of the complex pretty much shrugged their shoulders to the situation and gave the victims the option of breaking their lease without any penalty. Hope everything works out for you man, and I'd keep an eye out towards the Kissimme area.

I can't even begin to imagine what I would do if I found out my car was sitting on bricks.... now If I then found out it was towed with no wheels... heads would roll.

1) not telling anything to your complex mgmt was not a smart thing to do.
2) I'd call a lawyer

Shouldn't you be able to sue the towing company if there is damage to the car?? They cant just tow a car because they think its abandoned..not as far as I know at least.

Sucks about your wheels man. Pathetic low life thieves. hopefully everything gets resolved quickly for you.

Terrible, sucky situation for anyone but glad you found some wheels for now.
1. Good that you yelled at the mgmt for towing your car. There's no reason they couldn't contact you, they had all the information they needed and it's not like you never parked there before and it was an unfamiliar car.
2. Have your insurance pay for any obvious damage from towing or when they jacked your car up to take its wheels. It's hard to find who caused the damage, the thieves, the tow company, or a speed bump at some other time. Important thing is to get it repaired correctly and completely.
3. Get a car alarm with a tilt sensor! Wheel locks only keep the honest people honest. Park in well lit spaces when possible. Turn your front wheels all the way to the left or right so the can't get them off.

There are a few ways to properly tow a car without wheels the most effective being a dolly and a standard tow truck.

Ouch. Sorry to hear. There is a pretty good following in the SouthEast forum in the Florida thread. Im sure a few of the central florida members would have been willing to lend you 4 spare tires.

I'd also keep an eye on Craigslist. But I willing to bet your wheels are now sitting on another nissan in Kissimmee, since I hear thats where all the stolen cars in Orlando end up.

My heart broke when I see this thread

I would punch the **** manager in the face for towing the car without wheels. Your car was registered and they should call you before towing the car. Make them pay for the towing, and try to ask for a total loss. Just imagine that they drag the car on the ground to get it to the tow truck makes me sick.

I had this exact thing happen to me. My renters insurance covered everything!!! Check into it

*I know people are wondering why; its because your car is an extension of your home

Quick question about this - does the renter's insurance only cover the vehicle if it is stored on the property the plan is for?

Asking for those of us that store our vehicles off site (winter storage etc.)

Thanks!

you should have fire and theft insurance on a stored vehicle. You can cancel your liability and collision when winter stored. Your home owners insurance is unlikely to cover your vehicle in anyway if stored offsite.

This made me so sick, ask a Lawyer and take it from there. One phone call or letter from the lawyer will get everyone's *** on fire and going
