Desperately in need of wheels

Ok guys here's the deal. About two weeks ago I found my car on blocks with the wheels stolen. State Farm has taken way too long to get their stuff together and yesterday my apartment complex had my car towed (without talking to me) because they thought it was "abandoned." Now my car is sitting in a towing yard and I don't have a way to pick it up. I could have the towing company drop it off at the dealership if they had my replacement wheels in stock, but they won't take it as it is and it will take over a week for the new wheels to come in. If I leave my car at the towing yard my expensive stereo will be stolen and I'm sure they will charge me out the *** for storage.

The only thing I can think to do is find wheels as cheap as possible that will fit temporarily. Does anyone know where I can look for steelies that will fit a 370? I'm scouring craigslist looking for cheap 114.3 - 5 wheels to buy if I absolutely have to. I also called a local "Rent-to-own" wheel place and they can't help me.

This is a long shot but if someone in the Orlando area has stock rims sitting in their garage and would be willing to help I would be eternally grateful and I can pay you for your time.

Nick

PS: I know I don't have many posts here and I'm sorry if this is on the wrong board but I'm really desperate.

He might have a big nose too but I'm not sure how either one of those helps his situation

did they use wheels when they towed your car? :ugh2:

Damn I can't imagine how completely f*cked the underside of your car must be by now.... Here's to hoping that insurance will come through and fix all the damage caused by ineptitude. This thread caused me physical pain to look at.

You're apartment complex should pay for the tow and the storage.. Their fault for having it towed. I assume that your Z is registered to the apartment as you as the owner.

Not to state the obvious, but once you get some wheels, you better ask about a garage at your apartment complex. Thieves now know where to look.

Custom wheel locks this go round...they'll just steal the entire car next time

fuct 03-25-2014 03:43 PM

they stole your base wheels or did you have something else on there?

sorry to hear man. someone on the forums in the area has to have some base wheels to borrow or "rent". where are you Floridians?

YzGyz 03-25-2014 03:46 PM

get 4 spares from 4 local 370z?

go to tire place and pay to rent 4 steelies?

get altima wheels? (My bro's coupe's wheels fit my car"

File and get **** strait with your apartment!! That's just bs!! your a PAYING renting tenet. WTF!!!

Have insurance company look over the car good and have damages fixed...

OP, had you talked to the complex management before they had the car towed?

i would think a talk with them right after calling the cops would be proper protocol, no?

I'm sure he gave them the "FYI, the car had its wheels stolen" heads up. So they turned around and towed it anyway?

Ouch, I feel the pain just reading this. If I lived in the Orlando area, I would no doubt let you borrow my stock Mazda wheels. They're 5x114.3 as well.

Update: I found a guy that loaned me his stock evo x wheels for a week or two. The look like they will fit well enough to take across town and sit at the dealer.

Yes, they were the base model wheels. I never thought someone would steal these small ones.

I never told management about the theft (stupid I know :shakes head:) I just filed a police report and started working on the insurance. Management claims they put a tag on the windshield saying I have 48 hours to do something about it but they're probably lying because I would have noticed it. More importantly they have my tag number in their system from when I signed my lease. Would it really have been that hard to put a note on my door? I ripped management a new one, but now I can only take a deep breath and deal with it. I know for a fact State Farm will pay for any damage done to the car when it was (I assume) dragged onto the trailer. It's now sitting on tires at the tow yard and I'm, going to deal with that tomorrow. It's going to break my heart when I see it.

I fit all four 18" wheels in the back of my girlfriends Prius C. I'm impressed they all fit. My fairlady will feel like a damn Ferrari after driving this 99hp hybrid for a month.
