Interesting perspectives. Glad I'm not the only one. And it's not that I lose interest in the car itself - just in modifying it. Like I'd love to do some of the CF interior trim, but then I think, 'Well, I could take that $500 & do something else.' Where if I did it when I first got the car I wouldn't have give it a second thought.

I just wanna see what the next gen z will look like/be. Then I'll probably fall in love with it and save up money/ stop modding.

Yep. He's his own special brand of stupid. After multiple bans, he keeps coming back here to bash Nissan every chance he gets.

I have no debt in the world minus my car loan. I pay $463 a month for the car, $143 for insurance a month, $85 for a cell phone, and $350 for rent. So, I don't mind modding my 370 and having fun with it.

I even only drive approximately 2.4 miles to work and then back. But it makes road trips and those few moments I can really get on the throttle all the worthwhile. Plus the sound alone was solely worth it.

But that's just my two pennies on it.

I modified my car for a purpose, to drive at the track a full 30 minutes without incident. This goal was achieved.

Oddly I had to fight the urge to continue to spend money on mods. Modding for mods sake. I have two I've bought without installing. A back up cam and new clutch springs. The urge mostly went away and I still love what I've modded.

Age of the car is not what prevents me. My age and wisdom kick in first and I stop myself.

I am 49 now I want to spend time enjoying vehicles not working on them. I feel like I did enough of that in my younger days. I still do mods but keep them simple and quick. If I want a faster car I buy a faster car. If I want a car that handles better I buy one that does. I don't try to polish turds anymore or try to make a car something it's not. I enjoy them for what they are and personalize them now.

Yeah I hear ya, if I had a nickel for every hour I've spent over and under a car (no money no choice) rebuilding/repairing everything I could think of with borrowed/rented tools etc., I'd be rich. But it was a learning experience. Back then I could walk the next day but now at 52 it takes a while longer to recover . I think I'll leave tha Z alone except for minor tweaky things.
I like to mod but only small stuff. I'll leave the TT to the younger crowd.
I do love to see the mods here though, don't get me wrong.

Saw this thread and immediately could relate. We all fall in love and occasionally out of love with our cars. I for one seem to have consistently replaced my sports cars with the DD only to find myself back in a sports car again. Lesson learned - Its not the car - Its us. We are car people period. But like any good addiction, car addicts only can go so long before the craving strikes again. Change up sports cars if you need to but always stay true to your passion.
