If you adjust your mirrors correctly, driving, passing, changing lanes are not a problem.

I am in the camp that thinks blind sports are from not setting the mirrors correctly. I'm a fraction shy of 6'. Seat adjustment has a lot to do with good vis as well. I sit slightly reclined to even the plane of the rear mirror & rear window. This helps a lot for vis. Picture this angle / trying to see out of this --- angle, It does not work very well. You want to level the 2 planes as much as possible. Left turns through intersections, I need to sit up to see over the mirror. Adjust your mirrors as pictured i& you will have proper coverage. You will still need to move your head from time to time though

When I adjusted my mirrors like shown in the diagram a few years ago, it was a bit of an adjustment to get used to. But since then, visibility has been great in every car I've driven.
