That darn VDC button seems to wear out a lot of rear tires too....Nissan should just remove it because of the cost to owners who play with it....

How in the hell did you guys manage that?!?! My wife got <10K miles out of the stock RE050 rears doing DD highway miles (we did get 30K out of the fronts). I promise you she was not abusing the tires. I was not happy when I needed to replace them when the car was less than 9 months old...

And tire pressure was not a factor... I was super anal about checking things like that on the car when it was her DD. Now that it's my DD, I generally only make those checks when I work on the car or take an out of town trip. If the tire pressure is low, I can pretty much notice it before I get out of the neighborhood.

too true But I can tell you I'm getting a lot more pleasure out of my Nitto Invos and also getting more than double the mileage.

Promise all you want. She was enjoying the car!

NOTE: good to hear others take extra care for their loved-one's DD. My fiance's C300 is under a microscope daily, while I find myself inspecting my car with binoculars from time to time.

I guess my point is, even if she is enjoying the car, she's not enjoying it at the same level I do. I romped on the Invos for the last 6 months of their life (July-Dec) when it became my DD, and I got more than 10K miles out of those tires (which were 6 months old with 10K miles already on them!), which is more than my wife got out of the entire life of the RE050 rears. It just doesn't make any sense to me

The wife's DD is now an Acura lease... it doesn't get quite the love that the Z got

Honestly, I think it was possibly the quality of the roads. I dunno, maybe just luck.
