Some prefer the idea of a RWD manual car when canyon carving or back road runs.
For the OP, honestly if you are doing an engine swap (2J/RB/LSx) I would consider the RX7 but I would not drop the money if you are not going that road. The 370z is a great platform to work with, but you are going to drop 25k on engine/upgrades and then you will need to do suspension, brakes and tires.
