Today I was driving along route 95 just near the intersection of 295 when I saw a girl with tight leather pants and a purple top putting her thumb out looking for a ride. I hesitated for a moment and then stopped. She got in a smiled and said " I love your car." I smiled in return and said simply, "Well its a guy thing." We drove along in silence for a while and then I said to her, "Arent you concerned about what may happen to a beautiful woman like you hitchhiking alone?" And she said, "Well I have been doing this for years..and so far there has been nothing unpleasant

We drove along the highway and she said she had been playing baseball and her arm was tired...she was a pitcher and a lefty....she asked if she could rest her tired arm on my leg.. I agreed...

I smiled for a moment and then she said, "Its awfully warm in here..do you mind if I make myself a bit more comfortable? I said I could turn down the heat but she said, "No need for that" and began to unbutton her blouse....

Well I dont want to bore anyone with the rest of the story as I have a much more interesting story to tell about this ding I got in my car from a BMW that parked too close...

I opened my door and hit him as I was parked at a Dunkin Donuts parking lot..but I dont have time for the full story now,,.. will finish with the problem about the insurance later..you wont want to miss this..

To have a one of kind!

happytheman 04-12-2012 06:57 PM

Is that the only reason you're changing the color? Heck, you could've gone with a CF roof, Valance and Fangs and had a "one of a kind".

In for pics! Very interested to see what you're up to.

A lot of car cleaning product talk going on. I ordered some Griots clay and speed shine, along with two new buckets with grit trays. Finally I got one of those fancy OnZedge special Vacmaster wall mount turbo wet/dry vacs. Now I just need one of those california dusters and I should be pretty set.

m4a1mustang 04-12-2012 07:25 PM

A word of advice on buckets... get the all-purpose 5 gallon buckets from Home Depot. Less than 3 bucks a pop and the grit guards fit perfectly in them.

Lemers 04-12-2012 07:34 PM

Mine is just sitting in my drive :(

Plus they sell all the casters and stuff to make the dolly. I just happen to like the griots bucket cause it has a fill cup for the shampoo molded into the grit guard and the casters are super smooth...and since its rectangular it saves space inside the garage. :p

Woot installed the new micronfilters in myZ and 2 other cars. The old filter in my Z still appeared clean but swapped it out anyway. The one in the G had some dirt, the one in the fit was filthy...:ugh2:

ZMan8 04-12-2012 07:45 PM

My z one was clean too but don't forget that these filters are suppose to catch micro particles so you don't always see everything

m4a1mustang 04-12-2012 07:47 PM

Ken I just pick the buckets up and move them that way. You know, by the handle. :bowrofl:

I looked at doing it that way. The grit guards alone on Amazon were around $10 each and the buckets are like $5 so call it $15 per bucket with a crappy snap on bucket lid.

The ones I bought were $25/bucket and had a screw on lid, grit guard, bottle of wash soap, and large micro fiber cloth as a package deal. So if figured the extra $20 total was worth 2 bottles of wash, 2 cloths, and a nicer lids.

Indeed! I shouldn't be seeing anything. The one that came out of the fit had those cotton seed lookijg crap and stuff... yuk. :barf:

Went for another quick drive with the Z after I detailed my wife's hooptie. Surprisingly the finish was in really good shape. I had corrected the car just before winter. The Colinite 845 had lasted for most of the winter so I striped off what was left. Usually I stick with 845 as a LSP for our daily drivers because the stuff has amazing longevity and is very durable in this environment but I recently acquired some Prima Epic and wanted to give it a try so that's what I topped her car with.

And to think I originally went out to the garage just to tidy up... Oh well, you know what they say... Happy wife, happy life

EazyD 04-12-2012 08:27 PM

What should it cost for a body place to fix two rock dings on my hood? Size: 1/3 of your index finger thumbnail. Two of them. Looks like some rusting...but I thought it's aluminum? Tomorrow: PDR guy gets dent out of door for $200. :/

Good evening everyone. I really haven't participated much in the forums lately because I've been slammed with work. Hopefully I can find more time to keep up with you guys now that things are settling down a little bit.

I took the Z out for a photo shoot last weekend. Here are the pics.
