Would you drive on gravel?

I have driven my Z on gravel, I just kept the speed ~15mph and there are no dings from rocks that i've found as a result of it.

I also understand that some people have stretched their budget to the max to buy a Z in the first place and are therefore babying the crap out of it. If this is the case, i think they are depriving themselves the joy of actually driving the car in fear of somehow damaging it. Get out on the road, punch it into gear, and slam your right foot to the ground. DRIVE IT!
Right on! I hate the looks of car bras...if I get rock chips, so be it. Better to get a little (repairable) paint damage once in a while than look like sh#t all the time. My car is a daily driver, not for concours. Besides, there is no way to avoid some pits, especially if you drive these crappy Sonoma County roads.

Just my $0.02.

X2! i have winter tires for winter and summers for summer. Gravel roads i just go slower.
What i find funny is the average new 4x4 cost more then the Z and yet no one would think of NOT drving it on a sh1t road.

Well, that's why some used cars (Z) are in better shape than other used cars (Z)

Yeah, to be more specific, I would only be driving <5 MPH on the gravel driveways, since I wouldn't have to worry about traffic. I can identify with the poster that said the sound of rocks hitting the panels is like rocks through your heart!

Why do you think new car owners pay more for their cars? We get to do what we want and used car buyers can suck it

to me, people buy new cars because they want to get a car in perfect condition and are willing to pay more for them.

for used cars, if you look in the classified section in this forum, you will see that some sellers would indicate that the car has always been garaged, never driven in the rain, never abused, etc...

So new car buyers expect to get a car in perfect condition and used car buyers want to get a car in near perfect condition.

its not the speed or motion of your own car you should be concerned with when driving down the gravel roads man, its the d-bag who is flying toward you in the opposite direction who doesnt give two hoots about rocks hitting your car. especially huge jacked up four wheel drive trucks. wait, now i want a big jacked up four wheel drive truck just to drive through crap and not care!

Have both! Best of both worlds! If the road is smooth and graded.. Just take it slow and you'll be fine! Also remember when pulling back on to the pavement to take it easy until the gravel leaves your tires!

I agree. Yet you get some wackos out there expecting a perfect used car for little money (see my craiglist rant). I used to take care of my car, but then the difference between a perfect car and a very good car is very slim at the time of trade ins. So I just decided to stop caring.
