Alchang your guess is as good as mine. There are weekly production sched. that the dealer gets. I will not know anything until I receive my order # when it is accepted for production.

Thanks. The Echo has been making a noise under load for about a year. We have 136,000 miles on her so we definitely got our money's worth. Anyway, I knew the noise was coming from the tranny input shaft bearing and we decided to just drive it until it failed. Kate picked me up at the airport Friday and driving back it was loud as heck. Yesterday I limped it over to Colin's shop to get it on a lift to check it out and get an opinion on a rebuild cost. It failed driving home and is now sitting on the street, dead, with a jammed transmission.

The upside is a new Juke. Another upside is that the owner of Colin's shop wants to buy the Echo as is for his daughter. The thinkg is in great shape (minus the current undriveability). It has brand new Yokohama Avids, nice rims, K&N intake, Koni Sport-D, Dynaflow exhaust and a new a/c system. It also gets 40 mpg.

The Juke SL is stitting, waiting for us. It is beckoning with its quirky siren song "come buy me".

:tiphat: for modding the Echo, Mr. onzedge! Also, good luck with the Juke. That car has been slowly growing on me - it's definitely got different mastered. I especially like that the designers incorporated the rear door handles into the body, thereby making the car appear to only have one set of door handles à la coupes; I've only seen that done on one other vehicle, the Acura ZDX.

Here's my update of the day - started out by scouring the local neighborhood for open shops, so that I could use their impact gun. Found one owned by a shady old Italian guy, and then waited around till their shop boy was available to loosen up the troublesome lug nuts for me. And then the sh*t went down - the old guy wanted $20 for the effort. Things did not go so well afterwards, so long story short, never going back there and advising everyone I know to stay away.

Anyways, I drove home, took off the wheel and was able to finally put on the last Nismo wheel and voila!

Dude, I am already researching a cat-back and CAI.

Nick911sc 03-04-2012 03:50 PM

Hey everyone!

I was able to remove the OEM knob a few minutes ago without destroying it! Unfortunately, the 1 o ring that was provided from PWJDM was not enough so there's a little sag. I think I have a few spare ones lying around that I'll try to use to fix it. But man it looks and feels good!

And David... I'm straight up stealing those nismo rims at the meet wednesday lol

Good job. I did not get enough of the PWJDM-provided o-rings either so I improvised with a few spare garden hose rubber washers.

Took a little cruise in the Z this am. Right after I pulled in to a gas station, a soccer mom in a rav4 pulls up next to me (blocking traffic through the tiny station's parking lot) and asks if I'm driving a GTR. :bowrofl: I thought hard about saying yes.

Porsche maybe, but a GTR?

I bought some wheel chocks today because my old ones were sliding on the garage floor. got to be safe!

I've actually gotten the wife to start thinking about getting a new car so I can drive the MDX and keep the Z garaged. I discovered my pot hole incident broke all the retaining clips in the wheel wells. The bottom of the bumper is now loose.

We are looking at a 2012 CRV, but the Juke is starting to grow on me. For the price. it's a great deal.

Z-wise, I installed my EVO-R carbon fiber B-pillar covers. Perfect match to the ducktail.

I'm done modding!

For now.

Haha, well I have two wheel locks on the last wheel because of the whole fiasco, so you'll probably only get away with 3 of them :p

Went to Caffeine and Octane this morning. Came home check my brakes, bleed them, bleed the clutch, and did a full inspection of car. Ready for the track next week.

Got the LED strip yesterday and got a chance to "install" it. The install was just sliding it under the headlamp and using a 9v to light it up. I haven't had to take the nose off yet and expect it to be a little nerve wracking the first time so I wanna give myself a whole day to do it.

A silly question, will it be brighter once it is hooked up to the system than with the 9v battery?

kenchan 03-04-2012 06:44 PM

wat, are we talking chinese menu's today? :icon17:

i will have pot stickers, hot n sour soup, and garlic chicken...and fried rice. :yum:

Just an update. Just walked back into the house from taking my car for a spin after installing the PWJDM knob. I have to say, this knob makes the stock throw feel nice and crisp! A lot of that clunky feeling when shifting has been eliminated.

I'd say yes :) I don't really see how the stock setup could be improved anymore. Shifts are pretty short, and with how much clunkiness got eliminated I'd say it's a night and day feeling. Is that how you felt switching out the knob?

I concur with your opinion. The PWJDM knob made shifting much cleaner.
