Today, I picked-up my Nismo rims. Decided to go with the original hyper-silver because of my exterior color - Gun Metallic. I like the contrast of the silver against the GM. :happydance:
Ordered Mike's Nismo decals, so I'm just about done for now. Thinking seriously about the CarbonSignal CF ducktail.

Once I get the Z cleaned tomorrow, I'll try and post some pictures if anyone is interested.

Happy weekend all! Go Texans and Saints!

Hey srenity and kenchan, what do you use to apply the paint to try and make it look as smooth as possible? I've got a couple of nicks on the front that I need to patch up.

I used the mini brushes that came with the Dr Colorchip kit. Also with the Dr Colorchip product you are supposed to smear the paint and then clean off the access paint after it is dry to the touch with a chemical they provide. I ended up doing the 3 step process they recommend about 4 times in a row until I got a result I could live with.

Care to share what you ordered? :)

Drive the Z to Disneyland stayed for half the day and came home :)

Srenity 01-13-2012 07:07 PM

No Z action yet today, but when I leave the office I am packing up and driving her 5 hours to Sacramento for the weekend. There is about a 10 mile section of winding canyon road between here and there on my prevered route. To bad it will be dark and cold so I have to take it pretty easy.

Busy day with the Z. Completed the NST Pulley's install, bolted up the Berk HFC's and installed the K&N Typhoon CAI's. Now I sit and wait for the ARK CBE's to get delivered.

EazyD 01-13-2012 07:54 PM

First door ding. I am too shocked to post a picture. After a long day out and about, I get back to my car in the parking lot and find a 6" vertical dent and scratched about 4" wide. Someone opened their car door on my door and, I don't even know, tried to keep opening it? Too horrible to take a pic. :) Never leaving home on Friday the 13th ever again.

The install was a bit difficult for me because of my newness to this vehicle. Most difficult part for me, was removing the alternator. Now that it is back together, I am thinking that the belt may be too loose. NST did not say that a smaller belt was recomended for the install. My car has less than 200 miles on it, so I am certainly not replacing it if I don't have to. I will see it it makes noises after I get me exhaust delivered and hooked up. The NST kit comes with no instructions, but if you check out the Stillen site under their pulley, you can download an instruction sheet if that helps.

Parked at the mall. I am going to file an accident report. Will anything come of that? They might have video surveillance of the other car. It was probably their kid.

Investr 01-13-2012 10:23 PM

Went for a nice two hour cruise, top down the whole time! Today was beautiful, about 60 deg and sunny! Really enjoyed the day and the CAR!

Glad to hear you got it all back together. If I pick up a pulley its gonna be the Stillen. No alternator pulley for me. I take it the NST kit comes w the alternator pulley as well? Did your butt dyno register any change after installing the pulley? Im sure she revs a bit quicker now:tup:

Still waiting on my CBE to get here. Said it was supposed to ship the end of this week or next week. I figured I'd strip the car down and install the HFC, CAI and pulleys while I wait for the CBE to get here. Now I wait in frustration as my butt is ready to dyno. I think you will be pleased with the Stillen and as others had remarked, they're no issues with charging without changing the alternator pulley. A much easier install too.

Truth be told, I don't drink that often either (or that much at a single time for that matter), but a few sure makes for fun social interactions in a group of friends! :)

Nice day here in Germany. Cool but sunny. Drove to a place north of Stuttgart looking at furniture. Winter has been easy here.

Happy Saturday!

I motored over to two different beaches to check the surf. Ended up jumping in for a bit and froze my azz off but had fun!
