Washed my Z yesterday with this stuff that we talked about before:

http://images.lowes.com/product/conv...12103468xl.jpg

It works really well and there was no leftover residue after the wash. it has my official seal of approval!

One thing I noticed is that it has a really nice scent and it really suds up more than the Turtle Wax version I was using prior.

Does it seem like it actually has wax properties also or was it just a good wash?

dirTy_shoeZ 01-08-2012 11:36 PM

took it out in the country for some fun today.

There probably is but I wouldn't use it to replace actually waxing the car the old fashioned way.

mantella87 01-09-2012 02:03 AM

She sat in the garage all weekend.

Mecinoid 01-09-2012 02:47 AM

What did I do to my Z today? Well, I added the front plate to see if I liked my concept of cable ties and bumpers would work out and look good. The second thing I wanted to make sure is if I did this would it vibrate or caused any issues. Not bad looking imo for a couple cable tie mounts and cable ties. It seems to be be really on there and doesn't look too bad if you have to show your plate. I'm thinking with the commuting I'm going to be doing in the Z it might have to be on the car most of the time.

All you have to do is cut the ties to take it off for the weekend shows. Then when the show is over you just reinstall with the cable ties that you can have in the car and handy.

Quicker than using a screwdriver. ;-)

Plus, the angle keeps the front end down (j/k ... he, he, he)

I also loaded a bunch of music/photos on SD Chip for the DVD/Stereo head unit.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...Z/IMG_3275.jpg

The only thing I've found that I don't like about this Pioneer head unit is in the sun it's hard to read with my sunglasses on. If I boost the brightness it's great during the day... But, I have to drop it back down at night or it lights up the interior way to much. It's much like if you were to drive down the road with your interior light on.... really bright. Well, at least I can adjust the level on my head unit.

happytheman 01-09-2012 06:53 AM

On my JVC unit that I had prior to purchasing my Z, I could adjust the brightness based on a pre-determined schedule. Does the Pioneer not have that option? I mean, Garmin GPS units have been doing that for years.

Soo ho do you guys like you coolers and what kind of change are you seeing?

It was raining, so I bought her a set of Berk HFC's and ARK Performance Grip CBE. I hope she likes them.

Good to see some new people posting. Thechidz what part of NY are you from? I'm WNY. Supposed to be warm this week I think and may be able to get the car out if the salt gets washed off the roads.:ugh2:

lower hudson valley near the city, only one snowstorm this year on halloween, freek storm and has been pretty nice ever since, in the 40's tomorrow and wednesday.

Fire 01-09-2012 10:43 PM

Yup you guys got hit bad, we didn't get much. Just put the plow on the garden tractor and haven't needed it yet this year. Unfortunatelly the state has been using salt on the roads so no Z action unless it rains and the salt gets washed off.:shakes head:

mantella87 01-10-2012 12:15 AM

Drove to work and back. I always make sure to open it up a couple times each way. :)

Since I was off today. I did my base line dyno run. The Nismo got 282HP and 230 ftlbs corrected on a Mustang dyno. After that. I took a ride to Ohio Pyle State Park in SW Pa.

ImportConvert 01-10-2012 01:18 AM

I fantasized that it existed some place closer than California so I could buy it *frustration*

Strong numbers, I assume that's WITH your mods though, and not a stock baseline?

Audio install

9 Attachment(s)
So I just finished off a weekend of audio installs and all done :woot: Thanks for all the great info on this site, i couldnt have done it without you all! (along with the websearch on "how to solder wires together...lol) I put in a kenwood DNX6160, Polk MM6501 speakers, Polk PA330 amp, new speaker wires, Axxess ASWC steering interface, CMOS-200 rearview camera, dynamat xtreme the trunk area (doors to be done later) and brought ipod connection into the center console. Took a lot longer than planned but thats because i made the mistake of not cleaning up as i went and I spent more time walking around looking for tools and parts than actually doing work, lol. But i am thrilled with how it turned out. The speakers sound great, I love that you can modify the headunit color theme, i was suprised at how well the cam worked at night and for those wondering, the dynamat xtreme really does make a difference. I was able to reach in and slide a good sized piece over the left wheel well (cant on the right due to the some wiring to the gas tank) and i think that helped a lot. A little homework and forethought paid off....all for a little under $1000. glad i saved on the install fee.... time to enjoy :driving:
