As for the rims, yes, you will have to leave the car on jackstands while they are being coated unless your coater happens to have a spare set of rims and tires. I've lent mine out a couple times for local people. |
Best wishes to those going thru hard times. :tiphat: Happy is that avatar envy?? :bowrofl: Mike most kewl vid. Looks like all kinds of cars out there, makes me want my ZL1 soo much more thanks

This weekend looks good for getting the Z out of the garage and doing some :driving: Rain today and tomorrow to get rid of the salt and highs in the 50's and 60's. Weekend looks clear of rain soo far.

morning all! just checking in right now.
been a busy weekend and haven't had time to catch up to all the posts. was great driving my G this am to work in the rain. S04's stick like glue and the car finally handles the way it should (was on snow tire set since Nov). |

I would NOT have been happy with someone doing kickflips near my Z. :( It made for a cool pic, but still.... :ugh2: PS. Yer car's looking sick! :) Very unique usage of the aero bits! |
Nice canards  :driving:

I think that owning this car was my destiny. It sat in the dealer's lot for 4 months with no takers. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it online! Bought it almost 3 months ago. Got lucky with all of the great "winter" weather, too. Because of the weather, I was actually able to drive it! :happydance: |

yah, my G was pretty over the weekend but this am had to drive in rain so i need to wash again later this week. (better than snow/salt! :icon17: ) |
Anyone ever get any pushback from their insurance company about covering their mods? Just wondering.
Does lowering your car somehow negate your ability to file a claim for damage caused by broken pavement, pot holes, etc.? I'm wondering if I can file a claim with my insurance company for the damage - tire, diffuser, bumper paint - incurred from hitting a pot hole. I know another member runing a new front bumper on bad pavement. Any trouble with you insurance company? I'm curious to hear about others' experience before possibly getting into it with my insurer. Thanks! :hello: |
gurney- unless you have crappy insurance they should be able to accomodate you np. :) they would probably file 2 claims (one for pothole damage, one for curbage)... not sure, would this be a one-car collision damage? i'd check with nick. he's a insurance guru. :D

Koni's!!!
Here are some shots from the Koni installation. I set them at the mid-point on the rears and 1/4 tighter on the fronts. Driving impressions as follows (I wish I was more articulate, but here goes).
They are markedly better than stock. They are much more firm, turn-in is nice and crisp, steering input is more immediate. At-speed lanes changes are very flat. I have only driven around town and then about 1.25 hours of freeway thus far. Ride is a little more harsh, but not bad. Overall: I highly recommend the Koni/Swift combination. It makes the Z feel like it should. http://www.the370z.com/members/onzed...-koni-prep.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/onzed...stallation.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/onzed...right-rear.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/onzed...left-front.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/onzed...left-front.jpg As always, Reps welcome and will be returned!!! :icon17: |

spring + damper set = good. (your setup) spring only setup = half arsed. :ugh2: |

Oh well, I at least had an opportunity to editorialize about coil-overs. |

Congrats Mr. onzedge  Glad you like them. Im about a month from my install, I think. Im calling my dealer tomorrow to schedule a service. My trans needs to be looked at. Hopefully I dont get too much hassle and they opt to throw a new trans in it. I was just out experimenting so I can tell the dealer how to accurately replicate the prob. I got my 5th gear to grind on the downshift EVERY time. If I rev match it is fine but if Im at lets say 60mph, which is the speed I was testing from and I downshift from 6th to 5th fast it grinds every single time. I really dont look forward to fighting with the dealer over this. I also hope it gets in the shop and fixed quickly as I still have a pile of mods I need to get on before ZDAYZ, which is rapidly approaching. About 2 months away.

Yup, hope you get that tranny straightened out! :supergay:
Hey Mr. Onzedge, did you know you have shocks that are yello in color? They sure look mighty tasty! I'm digging em! I wonder, what improvements (if any) would I realize if I just replaced my factory shocks with Konis? |
Mr. Onzedge, great pictures. How visible is the yellow with the wheels back on the car?
