RevC was used for the GTR's recall. RevD is the latest There appears to be 2 versions for RevC.

RevC-A1 and a RevC-B1. i have the latter in my car now. i am not sure which version is on your car... RevA and RevB we know appears to be bad lots.

im using standard metric screws on mine and have a little kit in the truck with my facom 12mm ratchet, disposable gloves and my droidx as my flash light just in case i need to replace it again in the field. :D would be a 3-4min job for me. :p

happytheman 01-19-2012 08:45 PM

Why didn't you get a #48700-JF00D Kenchan?

wasn't available at the time. ive not read GTR's after the recall using RevC to have repeated problems so i am assuming RevC does the trick.

GTR folks mentioned the failure seemed to occur between 12K-20K miles for them....well, after 2.5yrs of ownership im still at 8K. :D so it will be a while before i get into that potential problematic time.

You can also find it here for under $500 bucks $497 to be exact.
Go to courtesyparts.com in the search box highlight 370Z or Z34 type in the search box next to it 48700-jf00d and it will bring you directly to the part. they also have the fuel sender unit for pretty cheap too for the 09 with the fuel gauge problem

Broken Z UPDATE

So the dealer called and it is the steering lock that failed. The part is on 3 week plus backorder so they are going to pull one from a 2012 they have on the lot and use it to fix mine. I am picking it up tonight. I tell you what -- these guys are awesome and they will definitely be on my Christmas card list for 2012!!!

Thank you again everyone for all the support. You are my best friends and we have not even met yet.

I am getting the rev numbers from the old and new part for those of you interested.

Have a great day!!!!

that's good to hear mr. onzedge

I took my car in this morning to get an annoying rear bumper squeak taken care of. I thought it was the styrofoam underneath but they said the rear bumper was rubbing against part of the tail light housing or something. Anyhow, no more squeak and they washed my car also.

A gentleman was dropping off his gtr while I was leaving also.

LMBmikeZ 01-20-2012 12:21 PM

Good to hear! I am happy to see you are getting your Z back really quickly!

No more squeaks but lots of swirls I bet!

That could be scary! Around here I wouldn't let a dealership wash my car. The one time they washed my car without asking. When I picked it up and saw it I the lot it looked worse then when I dropped it off and it had swirls all over it. Im not even sure the guy range out the sponge/towel looked like he wiped it down with dirt! I was pissed to say the least! Now on my file it says "DO NOT WASH MIKES CAR!" saw it my self lol. But this year I have no more freeby oil changes do I will probably just be doing them myself......
