OMG more compliments for Kenman. :shakes head: He is not going to be able to get thru the garage door with his big head LOL J/K Kenbro Hey Alcheng is that a stapler mod?

onzedge 03-22-2012 11:46 AM

Alcheng, I run Swifts with 15 mm spacers all around. I am very happy with the setup froma looks and performance point of view. I do not know if the alignment is impacted just by adding spacers because I always align after anything done to my suspension. Alignments only cost me the time it takes to drive to the shop and wait - maybe 1.5 hours total.

These two shots are right after spring installation:

This is a few months afetr spring installation and after they settled:

Thanks!!! :tiphat:

I could probably do a 20 or 25 mm in in the rear without troubles, but I like the stance the way it is now -- verymuch.

Post drop with my Sport rims; 15mm front and 20mm rear.

My Nismo rims have a slighly more aggressive offset, and I find that the 15mm fronts just barely poke out from under the fenders. The 20mm rears stick out too far for my taste. Ken-san recommended 5mm to 10mm spacers for the rear, and after some time with a couple of rulers, I went with 10mm. The sweet spot is actually around 7mm, but I couldn't find any H&R DRS spacers that size.

To quantify what I did, I took a 36" level and placed it against the face of the front tire/rim and held it level, and then measured the distance to the edge of the fender. In my case, the front was 10mm. When I repeated the process on the back tire, the distance was 20mm, hence, I will put a spacer that is 10mm shorter than the current 20mm, or a 10mm spacer.

So, I'll have about 1/3 of the shoulder exposed from underneath the fender, but none of the tread. I know guys with 25MM on the rear wheels of their Nismos and they like the look. Again, it's all subjective and there is no right or wrong here.

Looks nice Gurney:ughdance:

Boost_lee 03-22-2012 12:48 PM

20 months maybe? It was only the center section near the fog light and it was probably my error. The entire vinyl came off very cleanly.

https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&i...line&safe=1&zw
As you can see in that picture I painted my calipers yellow (yes I'm one of those guys who has a black car and wants to go batmobile theme so im going black and yellow) so I got bored and painted my engine cover!
https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&i...line&safe=1&zw
I still need to get in with a small brush and fill in the nissan letters in black to make it look better but I'll do that when I have the time because my G3's should be arriving in the next few hours!!!!1!1!!!oneoneone!!!

McNasty 03-22-2012 02:21 PM

alcheng 03-22-2012 02:55 PM

I was thinkng about 10mm or 15mm, but after looking at the wheel well again, I think 15-20mm.

What brand do you guys suggest? H&R seems a popular choice.

H&R DRS spacers. These have the removable studs which arguably makes them more safe. I've had mine on for over a years without issues. I drive aggressively.

Spohn you sux LOL Yes im jelly (as Kenman would say) Congrats and post details. I'd love to get some sponsors when I get my ZL1 and start tracking it.

Alcheng you look tipped in at the top on the rear. You said your align is good though right? I agree you need some spacers, I have 20s on the back H&R.

Footloose I agree on the H&R's.

Can anybody see the pics that Mc posted I can't.

Traded her for a Corvette C6

Fire 03-22-2012 03:43 PM

Hey ZMan I thought it might be the computer I was on at the firehall but can't see them here at home either.

Mighty I would say that he ordered the ones that would be replacements for the orig rims. He would have had to know alot of measurements to get ones with the flush look he is looking for.:ugh2:

I think H&R is the choice, have to do a more precise measurement tonight and decide. :icon17:
