WOW! Just read all these posts. Who knows this engine better than anyone on these threads and are QUALIFIED to specify the right oil to use? The Nissan engineers of course - full stop. Now, if you want to come on here and question their credentials/recommendations then you need to qualify yours - again, full stop. Follow their scheduled maintenance recommendations and your engine will last for years (automotive manufacturers don't want to replace engines under warranty any more than you want to go through the loss of use of your vehicle for same). If you choose to use Redline, Mobil 1, Amsoil, PepBoys special of the week or any other API certified oil in your engine, dino or synthetic, then guess what? Your engine will last for years (under normal driving conditions). Funny how that works isn't it? Don't try to out guess the SAE members. Would you trust your plumber in recommending treatment for your bowel pain? Hey, it's just a sewage system ain't it?

Redline ester is cheaper than Nissan, and fully synthetic, only a dollar or two a quart more than other synthetics like M1...

so, I plan to go redline for my 2nd oil change forward. On the first oil change, I went with non-syn Nissan ester.

But you won't be getting those invisible things they put in the Nissan oil.

I really wanna go with redline, but when I bough my car, my dealer offer me free oil change for life time. Do you guys think is this possible that I buy redline oil from aftermarket and give them to change it??

I don't see why not. They will be happy that they are a. saving their oil b. doing less frequent oil changes.

I had my 1st oil change done by the dealership as I had a promo for only $30 (for the ester oil), now Im ready for the 2nd and will be using Mobil1 Syn at $6.50 a quart.
