I'm a newb to manual.... Is it ok to constantly switch gears at nearly redline on each gear? I love speed! Also, is it ok to cruise on the highway

You need to highway drive in 6th and there is no need to redline when driving normally. You are putting unnecessary additional miles on the motor by doing so...........!

If you want to drag every where and beat the hell out of the engine then redline is good. I dont know why you would want to cruise in 4th gear.

I say redline it and stay in 3rd for the most power and speed. Then when it blows up we have one less Z killer on the road.

Lower RPM = lower revolutions per minute = lower engine use per unit time = lower wear on engine

Don't ride around at high RPMs if you plan to keep the car.
