Came back from Deland for the second time in as many weeks...and wouldn't you know it? I killed 10,000 bugs on the way back @ 5pm. GRRRRR!!

Dunno, but it must have something to do with the area and the time of day.

Anyways, so got her home and into the bath she went. Man....it was another hot one out there today. I seriously thought I was gonna sweat my clothes to the point they were dripping.

I tried something a little different and sprayed my polymer-based QD product on the windows, and it buffed off smooth and buttery. I've been using RainX Glass Cleaner and Water Repellant and to be honest...it hasn't done shyte to repel water. I suspect the QD treatment is going to do the trick. We'll see.

So you're dropping ~$200 every 3000 miles for an oil change that can easily last up to 10k? Hope you're rolling around in money. :(

FromG2Z 06-17-2011 02:18 PM

No stealership work for me.... except maybe warranty work.

I look forward to changing oil and getting underneath the car :)

chops 06-17-2011 04:33 PM

its amazing what that one spring can do. my 1-2 shifts are so much smoother now, and ive actually had to relearn how to drive the car slightly. i no longer have to ride the clutch for a short period of time for smooth, slower shifts. that old spring made shifting smoothly such a bitch!

Just bought JVC KW-XR610 CD receiver at Crutchfield.com

With a badass XM setup and steering wheel controls.

Shiiiit, I'm alright with an $80 oil change. Everyone was telling me it was upwards of $200 for the esther change.

esther sells for something like 12/quart *5 quarts = 60bucks. 80 sounds about right.

speaking of oil, i put in penzoil ultra and its been in the 80's and 90s here. ive noticed a 20 degree drop in oil temps. i hit 240 pretty easily on factory fill, but i hardly ever see 220 nowadays!

Is it esther? I'd love to "hardly" see 220 haha. And can I get oil changes at a regular oil change place as opposed to Nissan, with this oil? I want to take care of my car, but I also like finding the most sensible way to do it.

most sensible way would be to drive over to walmart, buy a 5 quart jug of penzoil ultra + mobil1/purolater/k&n filter; drive home up some ramps; and change it yourself ;)

it'll cost you ~$35, 30min of your time, and a lifetime of respect. come on...every guy should know how to change their oil!

Crazy4Z 06-17-2011 07:54 PM

Took it to the car wash. Waxed it and then im going to armorall the interior after i get off the computer.

EazyD 06-17-2011 08:33 PM

I was told Armorall is no good for interiors.

Regarding oil changes, this oil change and the last one, they put in normal oil to their recommendation. It was 34 bucks in the end so i had leftover money to buy a wireless 370Z computer mouse and ordered a GT-R start button :) hey said to use normal oil for first couple fillups and then I can go synthetic if i want. Let the flame begin, but I am following their advice.

armor all is terrible. i use plain water to clean the dash, then a spritz of 303 aerospace protectant followed by a nice buff with a clean towel. you end up with a nice not shiny, but clean looking matte finish.
