G2Z- yah mine was literally seized tight. :icon17: so far im loving the new knob.
I wont be able to take a spin until next weekend though... letting my driveway cure. :p

What exact knob is that? I think I want to be a copy-cat.

Front only.

Shift knob looks good man. How does it feel?

Oh ok, front only is

Thanks. Knob feels great so far. :p

Red__Zed 05-14-2011 08:21 AM

Haha, zero toe out back would be interesting. I'm running .13 (factory spec) out back. I had been running positive toe up front, but I'm worried about 500 miles of highway driving like that.

Is the knob any heavier than stock?

Definitely get the Ti knob, onzedge and Red.... You won't regret it. I think the Ti knob is about the same weight as the OEM? What you think, Ken?

Only thing is, I guess my strap wrench DIY doesn't work 100% of the time eh? It all depends on the degree to which the stock knob is loctited on there. So Ken, was your stock knob all fubarred then???

kenchan 05-14-2011 09:56 AM

Yah, agreed, the Ti knob weights about stock. :) yah, no worries about the strap wrench. Its someting worth a try to salvage the stock knob, but if the wrench breaks be ready to tear it up. :D

Did one side of xpel on the rocker. After a break will do the other side. :p

There's a faint line about 4" up.

1hr for passenger side, 35min for driver. :p. Im cleaning up right now.

nynhex 05-14-2011 12:22 PM

Just got my 370 back from the body shop. While fixing the bumper damage from the Range Rover hitting me the owner did a couple other things.

Here's one shot, I'll get more later.

Shot the hood and Grille/Fangs in black, filled the license plate holes.

Your hood is black? Looks nice! You also filled your plate holes? with what?

kenchan 05-14-2011 12:51 PM

G2Z - here u go. I used this thick stuff along the bottom of the rockers to prevent front tire kick up scratches. While I was running ET27 up front, the sides began showing tiny chips.

Yep! I drew out a design of what I want the car to look like. Black on blue, shot the hood, grille/fangs, valance, and roof. Also color-matched the mirrors to the body. The license plate holes were filled with (I don't know) but it looks pretty dope, IMO.

I am beginning to wonder how hard it would be for a total beginner to put one of those pre-cut kits on the front end of my Z?

Precut ones aren't too bad. Only trick is you need to be patient, fingers always wet while handling, never force a bubble out. :)

I think they used body-filler of some sort, smoothed it out, and sprayed over it. I had my 350z done the same way and it came out great.

Btw, here's a picture of the valance. I really like how it turned out. Ignore the compound residue btw lol

Hell yes! 4cyl corolla just doesn't do it for me. The Z looks much better, now I just have to get my springs and wheels to hook everything together. Oh yes, and a tint.. :ugh2:

Oh man I like the gloss valance! More pictures please to include the front fangs. Preferably while outside. That last pic was in the shadow and doesn't do your hood and fangs justice!

kenchan 05-14-2011 01:19 PM

Yah, to glossy rear valance!

Will do, I'll take it in the covered garage area and do some snaps. I'm still learning how to use my DSLR.

I was in the sun but honestly I don't know enough about my DSLR to deal with light like that. I should have some uploaded in a few.

nynhex 05-14-2011 02:07 PM

Here's one of the grille/fang area. Yes, it's dirty...

Nothing. It is cool and rainy here. The Z stays in the garage.

98intrigue 05-14-2011 04:03 PM

Drove it and had to pull it over from almost overheating... back to driving my mom's car :/

Oil temp or water temp? Not good and it's only May.

Both. We are going to try to mount the oil cooler in a different location and I'm going to bleed the coolant system. The issue MUST be solved in time for ZDayz.

Nismo221 05-14-2011 04:36 PM

The drive in to work is always alot better ever since I bought my 370!

Lemers 05-14-2011 04:36 PM

Ooops forgot you were boosted. That system is sick! Where's the extra heat coming from? Increased stress due to forced induction or poor coolant design?

nynhex 05-14-2011 08:17 PM

Did an LED swap. Blue map lights/trunk and hyper-white for license plate. Looks great!

Red__Zed 05-14-2011 08:47 PM

Washed it.. Then it rained...

Armonster 05-14-2011 08:47 PM

Installed M370 intake manifold along with k&n drops-ins and HPS post-maf tubes. Next on the list is ART pipes.
