Right at the point of seeming no return, someone such as yourself does what's right and reaches out. You pulled her from the brink and for that I salute you.

Thank you gentlemen,
I was not looking for salutes but I accept them with pride. I spoke with the young lady this morning and she is much better.

Thank you again.

It's a 370 forum but we don't allow kill threads on here. And me personnaly I'm totally against street racing. I almost killed two kids doing it and if I would of had my babies mom in the passenger seat (I just dropped her off at her house) when it happened I would of lost my whole family so yeah. Kinda a touchy subject.

kenchan 05-25-2011 01:51 PM

if you want to race just get a RC car and race in the parking lot with your buddies...

in fact i seriously want to get one of these... (im a friend of Akira who is the chief designer at HPI) but i needz to get DSLR first. :D

http://www.hpiracing.com/graphics/ki.../IMG_1647t.jpg

you can read all about it here: ::HPI RACING:: - Cup Racer

Dzel 05-25-2011 02:04 PM

A buddy had a skyline with like real gears and battery packs and stuff pretty cool. He was drifting it all over the shop.

Which DSLR are you going with? I am going to abandon my film cameras, I think.

Street racing is against the TOU (terms of use) of every forum I have been on. It is dangerous and illegal and is not allowed here at all.

On topic!

I grazed my hands along the lines of my Z with myfree hand as I held my son as we went off to have family time with my wife...

Family time = Z stays home

Hey great job MtTamIam. I think sometimes we loose site of the important things. Now back to that d@^& road racing thing. Don't post that crap here. Admin. doesn't like it and it casts sport car people in a bad light. Also posting that you got away with it because you had a radar detector just gives the lawmakers excusses to ban them, they help those of us that occ. accidentally get going too fast a reminder to slow down. I like that my gps/nav posts speed limits and current car speed so that I can see it. I just heard that a NASCAR driver was caught doing 125 in a 45 zone. If NASCAR does what they have in the past he may not be driving for awhile. They take drunk driving and dangerous driving on the street very seriously, as they should.

The D3000 will do everything you want plus more. I have a D90 and it does more stuff than I know what to do with. Its absolutly amazing though. You get that D3000 & you will be producing beautiful photos even if you are a camera noob.

 thanks for the reinforcement. sounds good.

the replacement wheel (Weds rear wheel i curbed) and tire set me back 900+ this week :crying: so i need to wait a few weeks before i can get the rear CF wing tip (mines) and the D3000.

The D3000 will rock your world. I just have a measly D60, but it's already a fantastic camera. Night and day between that and point and shoots. Best part about these DSLR's... if I decide to upgrade some day, the lenses I am currently using will fit on any Nikon DSLR....

Fire 05-25-2011 02:43 PM

We need a camera thread here LOL. I like my little POS h/p photosmart E317. I do want to buy a gopro prior to attending tha ZdayZ next year or autocrossing when I get a chance. Just hope I don't get any pics of my splitter hitting cones :ughdance:

Have an Ark Grip Exhaust for sale...since I'm getting a FI CF CBE, but now just thinking of keeping the Ark and not buying the FI since the Ark hasn't sold...:shakes head:

Alchemy 05-25-2011 06:57 PM

Have you looked into the D5000 kenchan??? Its a little more but its more bang per buck than the D3000. You get a better CMOS sensor, which helps at high iso levels. Same CMOS as the D90 I believe, which is good. Plus you can shoot video with it!

Better pics everywhere esp in low light. Im no professional photographer so its hard for me to explain but it will basically clearer, crisper photos. Reduces what they call "noise" as well which is when a pic looks pixelated or fuzzy. If you dont mind spending an extra $200 its def way more camera. Plus like I said it shoots hd video. Look into it.

Red__Zed 05-25-2011 09:39 PM

Ken, probably worth stepping up to the 3100 at least. More recent version of the 3000

happytheman 05-25-2011 10:39 PM

Hmmm...D5000 - $599.....seems like a no-brainer to go the distance and get the D5000!

D5000:Nikon - 12.3-Megapixel D5000 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens - Black - D5000 with 18-55mm Lens

Yeah, cats piss me off! They'd always climb on my G back in college. There were claw scratches on my grill from them, too:mad:

Ken, basically, ANY DSLR you will get is LIGHT YEARS more advanced than any camera you have used in the past. The pictures will be clearer, crisper, and will give you more flexibility for editing. And when I say ANY DSLR, I mean ANY brand, and any model within that brand.

Just take a look at them and pick out one that suits you and your budget. The HD video feature I wouldn't use as a determining feature. I'd rather use (which I have) a dedicated HD video cam for that. I want my DSLR to just be that, a great-picture-taking camera. Just my :twocents:

on to topic... did nothing with Zena today. Might have a car meet tonight, so will wash her and put CG 50/50 on her as an LSP tonight...

ClemsonWill 05-26-2011 08:57 AM

Drove my Z to work today. So happy to be driving her again.
