I am not sure where the fascination with bigger tire sizes comes from. Is there a performance advantage? Is it just because the RE-11's don't come in OEM size for the rear? Is it to be able to say "I have big tires"? I am at a loss.

OEM sizes seem like perfect fits to me. I must be missing something. It would not be the first, or the last, time, though.

yah, i run stock sizes too on my Z.

That 350 is too funny. Its really hard for me to grasp why people do that to their cars. There is nothing cheesier than slapping all those chrome badges and fake air ducts all over:facepalm: Doin your ride up like that is like having a mullet, you may think its cool and looks good but everyone else is laughin at you.

285/35/19's are $30-40 CHEAPER than 275/35/19's:tup:

Also the stock 275's look stretched...... Which look stupid IMHO. The 285's fit great and you do get slightly better traction and also the RE-11's weigh less than the stockers. I like meaty tires.

People with the 305's on stock wheels pay more for the tire, add unneeded weight to the car, and only gain bragging rights to say they have 305's. Also some people just prefer that look, I don't.

I'm not sure. I'll be getting it lowered soon anyways.

I have Pilot Super Sports in OEM sizes and I think they look perfect from a fit perspective, but this may be simply a matter of opinion. They are also significantly lighter than OEM Potenzas as well.

Footloose301 09-02-2011 12:27 PM

Yes. Yours look good in oem sizes. They don't appear stretched like oem tires.

I wanted the RE-11's and the price difference between 275 & 285's was a no brainer. I saved $75

Stretching the Z's legs today by going for a cruise on some twisty roads along side the lake. Stopped for lunch at a little restaurant called Dougalls.

i typically keep my cars for 1 - 2 years, so i wont worry about it for now (as long as it doesnt fall off lol)

PapoZalsa 09-02-2011 05:56 PM

Got the Tein S-Tech springs installed. Suttle drop, just what I wanted. Pics later.

Well. after installing my Z store CF fang, I checked it the next day after getting home from work. MAYBE two or three of the 10+ pieces of double-sided tape were holding the thing on.

I pulled it off, took Ken's advice, and got some 3M VHB tape. As Ken would say, "it's permanently on for a long time"!

Thanks Ken!

Masa 09-02-2011 07:29 PM

Finally got time to put on my Swifts. Waiting about a week for them to settle before I get an alignment and possibly 20mm spacers all around.

Looking at some 15mm to 20mm spacers ,will wait for them to settle and install the camber kit to be safe before getting an alignment too.

Yesterday?

Drove her down to Titusville to Dixie Crossroads for some Rock Shrimp. Noticed an exorbitant amount of bugs on the way back.... So I'm thinking I've got my work cut out for me tomorrow.

Today?

Wash, Dry, QD, Vacuum and RainX window treatment.

Oh yeah, and it was like 95° w/ 95% humidity!

The (sweat) must flow.

I used to work in Satellite Beach and my boss was from Titusville. Good times.

Yeah, I definitely didn't use the adhesive they sent withit. I put on some heavy duty 3M, and I took it on a couple 90+ mph drives on the highway. It ain't going anywhere :)
