So my kids are playing make believe restaurant and their background music is KennyG. I'm like where the heck did you guys get KennyG? And they replied "from grandma, but this is not KennyG. We are playing music from Cars. " and I realized there was a scene in the movie where Mac the race car carrier truck fell asleep while carrying McQueen and they were playing KennyG in the background. Lol. :D

happytheman 11-21-2011 05:13 PM

Ahh yeah, that was when the punk racer cars came along all lit up with neon and blasted their stereo to put Mack to sleep! BWAHAHA

Hahaha, I like how the movie makes fun of fast&furious... and kennyG at the same time. :icon17:

Not only that, but there were so many "car guy" things in that movie that the average person had no idea of or could appreciate.

My favorite, besides "The King" being a Superbird was Mario Andretti as the '67 Ford Fairlane he won the Daytona 500 with.

Favorite scene was when the Porsche turned around to go home and the spoiler lifted to show her pin stripe "tramp stamp". A group of teenage girls in the theater actually burst into laughter with that one.

Thanks you good Sir. I actually grew up in the El Paso area. How long you stationed at Fort Bliss?

Skeeterbop 11-21-2011 08:01 PM

3 years

I think I may have found the perfect vacuum! I know some really like the Master Blaster, but I think this one may fit the bill just fine. It sucks, it blows...you can buy additional accessories so you a can get down in the nooks and crannies, can be detached from the wall if necessary and has a remote on the end of the hose that can power the unit on and off.

Yesterday I tried my hand at an HPDE point by passing day in the rain no less.
Carnage included NSX total front end. Spins galore. Sounds a bit like a porn actress.

I'll try and make a thread about this but Thanksgiving is racing towards me, so here at least is some in car footage.

Don't think I would want my first HPDE to be in the rain. Bet you were glad you had VDC in those conditions.

I am in the "I hate VDC" crowd but you are correct, I left VDC on every second. A bunch of older cars without it spun, while newer cars with it, like the Camaro, spun too.

Very cool. Looks like you had a good time and learned some things. Your instructor seemed like a pretty nice/knowledgable guy. Keep up the good work:tup:

gurneyeagle 11-22-2011 12:01 PM

Another vacation day, but actually didn't have to go into the office for a change.

Used the time to do a QD cleaning, and followed that up with a double dose of Griot's Best in Show Wax. Liking the results.

Also, in attempt to maintain my status as the second leading Griot's whore on the Board (some guy who lives 2,300 miles NE of L.A. currently holds the title ) I tried their tire dressing for the first time today. LOVE the stuff! I highly recommend it.

I'll try and post some pictures later today if it ever quits raining.

Due to scheduling, I had to postpone the Nismo bumper upgrade to the first week in December. While in the shop for the "nose job", spacer install, and door handle paint job, will probably go ahead and install some new springs for a mild drop - 1" in the front and 0.75" in the back.

Still hunting Nismo rims at a reasonable price.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

Mt Tam -- Those are great videos. How did the Super Sports hold up in the wet for you?

Perfect. The Porsche guys who have PS2's are all envious of PSS's and are upgrading to them when their current wear out, or so they said. The big complaint about the rain was every body had summer tires (me too), and it was too cold (high 40's). Lots of Nittos and Hoosiers.

Super Sports; Best tires I've ever had. Thank you onzedge for the recommendation and keeping me from all seasons.

It quit raining, so I took a few photos. Besides the glamour shots, I included a few pictures of the stitching dye job, my first attempt using Di-Noc and the Nav By-pass switch where I covered the seat diagram with the Z button from a valve stem cap. Still waiting for my matte finish carbon fiber interior bits. Should see those in a few weeks.

When I get the Nismo nose job done, and the interior bits installed, I'll probably create a real album.

Lots to look forward to in the next few weeks!

This looks great! I might want to try this and possibly some of the other random silver pieces.

SPOHN 11-22-2011 01:32 PM

Washed my car and loaded up tools. Track day this weekend.

Looks great! I really need to do the same to mine. I HATE not having a garage right now, but I LOVE no rent. I don't know about you, but that DiNoc stuff is sooooo easy to use, and it can be addicting. :happydance:

Excellent. I really need to do that at some point too. I've seen the results and it's definitely worth the effort.
