I wish I had a really good story but I just drove it to work. (but that's ok too, I'm the envy of the parking lot) :)

Thank you. It is really easy, and worth the effort.

I just exchanged e mails with Baker Tuning, and the springs just got ordered, so I'm in deep now. Install for everything is now scheduled for Dec 8 - 16 while I'm out of town on a business trip. Hopefully, my carbon fiber interior trim will be in soon too.

I'll post pics when it's all done. The before and after should be pretty dramatic.

Actually, the stuff is pretty easy to work with. I would advise taking trim pieces off though. I didn't for the install, but will probably when I re-do it. For the piece of fascia I covered, I made a template from a dash kit I had ordered.

Do you have a nav system? If so, I can cut out a template for you.

Waiz 11-23-2011 12:13 AM

Today was the first day of my 4-day vacation and I drove to the beach and spent the day with my brother.

The Z was still dirty from the rain on Sunday so I washed her in my driveway and took it to a coin-op carwash so that I could dry it in one of the bays.

Yeah after I got the finished product the first thing I though was what other pieces I might want to do in the future. I don't want to over do as I like having some of silver. I think maybe the mikey mouse shifter trim, and possibly the door handles.

haha, been kinda wanting to wrap new tires on my weds so been driving spiritedly the last couple of times. not that there's anything wrong with my DW's, i just dont like the rubber material they are using on the sidewalls as it blooms too easily. i want to try the supersports next season... :p

motored my Z today... was a great drive. they sprinkled salt on some of the intersections in the woods so my car has salt particles on the side panels :ugh2: but will motor her again tomorrow and do a full bucket wash if it looks like snow this weekend. suppose to be pretty warm tomorrow.

I detailed my car today. I've been using the Armorall Butter Smooth wax since I've had the car about one year. Today was the first hand wax its gotten. Heres a pic after one coat. I just finished the 2nd coat a few minutes ago but didn't take pics. It looks amazing in person. I like this wax. I need to get some of the Zaino Bros wax though. Thats the best stuff hands down.

Meguiar's Ultimate is one of the best I have ever used. Nice choice.

Skeeterbop 11-23-2011 12:41 PM

Bought a bunch of new car washing stuff for it. Went with Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax. Also got their clay kit, the Ultimate polish glaze, and a crap ton of microfiber towels. Hopefully, I get released early and I can try out the new products. :D

Got to playing around with Photoshop today, and was curious what you all thought of this potential wheel painting idea?

I "don't not like it" if you know what I mean.. It gives the rays the appearance of having a lip from that angle but I don't think I would spend the money for that and ruin their resale value. Instead of spending a few hundred bucks on that paint job (unless of course you DIY), I would say sell yours for a grand and use that few hundred on top to buy after market rims. Excellent edit BTW

Dembflyr 11-23-2011 05:43 PM

Changed the oil, filled up the gas tank and overinflated the tires. (the tires is just me being anal. They are bald so I really shouldn't care about flat spots.)

Parked her all the way to one side of the garage.

Folded the mirrors in.

Made a sad face as I walked into the house. :(

I'll be removing the battery and finishing up the winter storage next week. I tried to wait as long as possible to put her away but temps below 50, bald tires and 475 WHP make for a bad combo.

Now the long wait for spring begins.......

At first I was like :shakes head:

Then I looked a bit more and I was like :ugh2:

But the more I look, I think you may be onto something there. Maybe if you do the entire center except for the cap. That combined with the lugs being chrome may look good.
