I forgot something at work and needed to go back and get it. One mile from my destination I saw an Aston Martin (sounding great) followed closely by a Porsche. I had the opportunity to make a 180 and did. I caught up to them a few turns later. The Porsche was a 4S. Eventually the Aston turned off and the Porsche stayed stuck behind a slow poke, and I spun back around to the office again.

Got our baby professionally detailed today, she looks great!

Def needed it after the track day at Zcon and driving up there and back.

Finally polished my fast intentions exhaust tips. Its been 10 months since I've polished them.

DIGItonium 07-28-2011 12:46 AM

Said goodbye... for now.

The time has finally come. With the 350Z, I dreamed about APS or GReddy TT, but it was far out of reach. With the 370Z, I didn't think I would need it, but life's short... gonna live out my dream. In the meantime, gotta quickly pay off everything haha! At least it's not a life long debt.

Digi- sorry to hear that! :( but GL! Stick around. :D

Did you sell the car with the Ings side pieces?

RAW files enable you to edit the photos without any loss in quality. Every time you edit JPEGs, you diminish the quality of the picture slightly.

^^^This! Most of the time I am shooting S or A. I usually shoot full manual in ultra low light situations or shooting indoor sports like Volleyball (in poorly lighted locations).

Awesome, best of luck with your build and we will be anxiously watching the updates!

Here is my update: Sorry, no pics today. My evening didn't go as planned and I didn't get anywhere near the laptop. Spent the entire day with the car. Tires mounted in the morning, went home and installed the rear camber arms, hit my buddies shop just before his lunch. Sooo, I took him and one of his guys out for lunch before we got start. Got to be in the pit and help with the alignment. Long story short, car feel perfect. Rear camber is at -2.3 and toe is .1 both sides. One thing that was almost immediately apparent... the VDC is much less obnoxious with a little bit of grip. :driving:

Going to be a busy day at work so I probably won't be on much. Hope everyone has a great Z Day! Oh, just found out that Bryan Settle (from ZDayZ) will be in the area for our next Cars and Coffee Williamsburg and is planning to come out if he can swing it.

:tiphat: Definitely happy to join the TT club soon... it will only be the 400whp club, though. HA! Like your Z32, I'm hoping to get back some of the old feeling with this car with the turbos. When I sat in Baker Nissan's Silvia, the gritty turbocharged engine felt so good.

Thank you! I'm putting together a before and after video. It will consist of dyno footage from Baker, engine start and rev, casual acceleration, 3rd gear pull 50-80 MPH, and 1-3rd to 80 MPH. It's not quite pushing it, but hopefully it's enough to capture the differences in feeling. I originally wanted to use two cameras to get exterior and tach footage for a video overlay, but didn't have the time or have the tools to do it.

Unfortunately, no VR38 lower manifold. I haven't heard anything from Mike or GTM about their progress. Knowing that it involves custom fuel rails, it's best to wait until this kit matures far out of the beta stage. Someday, though... I'll keep my plenum as a wall decoration or something.

yah, i was seriously considering the 135i a few years ago to possibly get as my dd. with the issues people were having (and the issue I had with my previous MINI which was partly a BMW-serviced car with annoying problems) i waited and upgraded my hobby car instead (my Z, sold the MINI).

my G's pretty and all still but she can't live forever so in the next 2.5yrs i want to sell the car and get the 135i. she will be 10yrs old. :icon17: which is i guess nothing vs mr.onzedge's cool datsun. :D

im not selling the Z for a while.. no way.

onzedge 07-28-2011 09:37 AM

Mr. Kenchan,

One never sells a Z -- unless, of course, you find yourself with a 1985 300 ZX 2+2 Automatic. If you do, the do the Z world a favor and push it off a cliff.

LunaZ 07-28-2011 09:38 AM

QD'ed her and put the cover on. T-storms comin' through.

On yesterday's kenchan, a couple of ricer kids in a work-in-progress CRX pulled up next to me at a light and tried to goad me into a race. I did what was a typical launch for me when I'm at the front of the line and have open road in front of me; Putting as much power down as I can without squealing the tyres and quickly accelerating to the speed limit. The CRX driver dumped the clutch as he was letting off the gas and stalled it at the light. :roflpuke2:
I never could understand why ricers do the whole womp-womp-womp revving thing while... well, while pulling away from any stopped position.
They caught up to me with a ricer fly-by, hit the brakes hard and rode next to me with their engine bouncing off the rev limiter. I was quite impressed! :ugh2:

M1 is a supercar. It's technically a 1 series m coupe, or 1m.

They finally wrapped up the wonky stuff with the early 1s that stopped me from buying one in the first place, but it looks like they are impossible to find.

GET OFF my Kenchan man!

Can't it be an adjective too. Instead of saying it is a traditional Z car, it is a "Kenchan Z car" may become a possibility.

I saw one in a show room while I was in high school. It was so Kenchan (cool). I walked around it and stared so long one of the salesman said something like "so are you going to take it?" Being young I got a little scared I was doing something wrong, said no, and left.

wh1te370z 07-28-2011 10:04 AM

I took a ride in the stock 1M on a set of slicks with a pro driver and that car is pretty crazy. I couldnt imagine what it would be like w a couple mods.

Haha speaking of which, the new Kia Optima was indeed our rental car to Houston. It's probably our best rental car compared to the Cobalt and Focus. People actually stop me to ask about the car, and I tell them it's a rental. Furthermore, my parent's '08 Accord was traded in for a turbo Sonata last month. :icon14:

Haha... on topic, I ghetto-rigged my camera to my steering wheel (upside down) with masking tape to record various "before" videos yesterday. A good video for comparision is probably the 3rd gear pull to redline from 50 MPH.

lol. over the weekend i had a hellaflushthetoilet MR2 following me around after my quick photoshoot. He lined up next to me and was waiting for the road to merge past this one intersection. obviously i sensed he wanted me to gun it to see if his hellaflushatoilet could smoke the living shitt out of the kenchan. so as usual i just slowed down to let the boy pass. the light at the intersection ahead was green but suddenly we saw this hyundai running a redlight about 100ft in front of us. doh!

if i would've gunned it a second or two earlier, that flushatoilet would've been broadsided and really flushed down the toilet. :icon14: so i saved the boy's life... yet he still floored the living crap out of his flushatoilet after we passed the intersection going well over 80 in a 35mph zone. these kids just dont get it.

in all honestly that optima looks better than any corolla and the new civic's. so KIA is on the right path. it actually reminds me of a lexus when looked at from certain angles. :) accord getting its arse handed by a sonata turbo, huh? well, the current accord isn't THAT impressive so it was just a matter of time, huh? :D honda's are very lacking these days as far as fun cars. i use to be more of a honda guy but now im a Nissan guy.

i probably use masking tape the most ouf of all tapes i use. it's great. unlike duct tape no residue, easy to cut with your fingers, pretty strong for temporary solution, etc.

new 2011 1M maybe be fast, but I'm sorry, that thing is fugly.

kenchan 07-28-2011 01:08 PM

worked on tweaking the midlevel and shadows on the picts i took over the weekend on my new macbook. i think CLP's the way to go in the hot sun as i can get more saturation and easier to control the levels later on in photoshop. :p (thanks mr.onzedge!) with just the UV filter im finding that i need to add saturation later by a slight bit as exposure is too high, camera looses definition between the shadow areas (like around the wheelwell, tire side wall, wheel spokes, etc).

cant wait to try taking picts this weekend in raw and try editing that next week...as it might be just the camera's decoding that's causing this. :excited:

Lol, my first car was a 1984 300zx 2+2 MANUAL. What a rust bucket!!! I loved it though and it sparked a life long love for Z cars. Drove that girl into the ground.

My daughter's first car was an 86 Z31 5spd, loaded, even the "Bitchen Betty". She came home from school for xmas her freshman year and spun it into a crepe myrtle on xmas eve. She was fine but the front of the Z bent to the radiator. Kept it for two years until I found the right new home for it. Young kid in the club bought a similar car to find the engine was toast. He swapped the drive train out of ours and just got it running about two months ago. Another great save. :)
