It is a lot quieter than I was bracing myself for. I didn't have time to install the HFCs, so that may be why it is quieter.
I will try to find some time to get pictures. Hard to do with a 6 month old.

Good morning, everyone.

Today, I drove the 370 to my office to get a feel for my Swift springs. I drive against commute so I was able to test out some quick lane changes and off ramp action. Of course I stayed below all posted speed limits and always used my turn signals.

Although a bit of a lame test, being commuting and all, I can report the following.

1. Ride quality is a bit bumpier, but that could be my imagination.
2. Turn-in is much more sharp and crisp
3. Lane changes and off-ramp driving are much flatter.

More later...

Have an excellent day.

sounds good, mr.onzedge! is there any undulation?

no z action for me today. drove the G with factory wheels and snow tires on. feels soft and squirm is very noticable. :D but i suppose for a dd the softer ride is welcome. just feels more like an ordinary sports coupe now.

visually no one at the office mentioned i got different wheels on so i suppose it looks ok. lol :rofl2:

My Stillen cat back didnt sound as loud as I thought it would at all. Thats what made me get test pipes as fast as I could. They REALLY opened the exhaust sound up.

Mr. Kenchan -- no undulation at all so far.

It bums me out when I make a change to my Z'z and no-one notices. :icon17:

My wife does the same thing. "That's nice, baby" is what she says -- accompanied with a pat on the shoulder. That is OK -- i do the same thing when she starts talking about genotyping, cloning and genetic manipulation.

Remember someday when she stand in front of you happily and ask, "Honey... do you notice anything different on me today~~~?"

And that's when you start sweating yourself.......

onzedge, any future plans for upgrading your shocks?

My stock shocks failed about 35K after my spring install but I'm not sure if you even drive that much ;)

I am hoping Koni will make something, but I heard they are not palnning on it. Maybe Tokico?

Yes, I do drive that much -- 24,500 miles so far.

I have Tokico Illuminas on my 240z. They are quite good. I like Bilstein too.

Waiz 11-07-2011 05:13 PM

Yeah I'm running Tokicos myself but heard good things about Bilstein.

I knew the shocks were gone when I would go over a bump in the road on a freeway and I would get practically airborne :icon17:

Skeeterbop 11-07-2011 05:16 PM

Not much today, but I'm going to have to wash my car again tomorrow. Dust storms are getting annoying.

yah, im hoping D-Specs if koni doesn't come through.

waizzz- i run D-specs on my G35C with prokits. i have it set like 3 clicks from full hard and it's a perfect ride. :p ive had it for 7yrs about 25K miles on them. no issue.

if one blows i will redo the entire set again with D-specs. (actually i'll probably use my stock springs and shocks for the remainder of ownership... getting ready to sell the car in a year).

I hate you again! :icon17:

In 2007 I put that much mileage on my Z in one year :(

ZForce 11-07-2011 06:03 PM

Dallaz, awesome pics from Plano, really like the bk&We action you got going on the couple taking a snap of your ride. Semi fish eye shots are great. How did you get access to the scaffle to get those shots?

She's going on the lift tomorrow to start fabricating a new exhaust. We also have a few dry carbon engine dress up parts that are going on.

Let's see those pics!

+1 on gloves, I have a great set of lightly padded Mechanix gloves myself and it keeps my hands from looking like I'm an MMA fighter :icon17:

No kidding, I feel like I got a zillion papercuts on my right palm.
Next time I'm at harbor freight, I'm gonna nab me a couple pairs of gloves.

I guess I should start a build thread soon with pics.. even though my plans are mild. :p
