Yes mine does this. I thought it was because I have had my trunk replaced due to a tree branch falling on it (I have bad luck with this car) and the body shop did a cruddy job fixing it. Guess thats not the case. But, yeah my truck def does this.

Waizz, btw I know I have said it before but your 350 is really nice. You most certainly dont see them that well done too often. Hats off to you sir:tiphat:

There is a TSB for the hatch issue, where they replace the springs. It fixes the issue for some, not for others.

You can also drop a couple pennies under the springs to fix the issue.

I never cared enough to bother. Double tapping the button is not really a big inconvenience to me.

LunaZ 11-06-2011 02:19 PM

Uncovered her and took a spirited romp to dispell the notion thE Asians can't drive.
Stopped at the train station and watched the Mrs. pull away before boarding.my train to NYC.

LunaZ 11-06-2011 02:21 PM

I had the TSB performed and I still have to double tap when it gets cold.

We were curious where it actually was located, I will let the guys know.

Do you have an aftermarket wing? Mine would get stuck during the colder months but now that I have the NISMO wing I have to press the button twice all the time

I really appreciate the compliments, I just can't believe that in two months my Z will be 8 years old

BTW - thank you for posting the pictures. Usually someone from or group posts pictures on the Club's Facebook page a few days after the event. When they come up, I'll post the link.

Here's a link to some pictures from our October car show:

Leaving Facebook... | Facebook

Well me and the Nisom did and then a friend with a 350 arrived and got a spot right next to us but then people just start flooding in and theres not much opportunity unless you get there right at 7 and all cruise in together. But for the most part the Z's were pretty spread out.

About the pictures, thanks. I try to make sure that I post them same day, or I'll just be lazy and it wont get done.

That show near you is killer. Quite a few Z's. That red Nismo 350 is the car I wanted until I drove a 370 for the first time. There were a few that I came very close to buying but I'm very happy I ended up with the 370.

Im confused... Is TSB like a recall? like I could just run it over to nissan and they would switch the springs for free? I probably wont anyways just curious

Yeah I really don't either, but generally speaking the only time anyone opens the hatch is to put something in the trunk, meaning your hands are full. and the real pain is, even if I double tap it from the start, I usually still have to lift it and let it catch, then press it again for it to release. PITA.... OWell

if you drop in the stronger springs + a penny, the issue will pretty much disappear.

Mine pops open on the first try.

The hatch, that is.

Washed my car again today. Despite washing it Friday, the dust getting blown around by 30mph winds yesterday made it look like I had never washed it the day before.

This is exactly why I bought a car cover. Even in our parking garage, it seemed to get dusty every single day despite washing it frequently

I put the stock shifter back on today. After 4 months of the Ti Nismo shifter I really needed something that fit well in my palm. :)

Footloose301 11-06-2011 07:55 PM

Send that shifter down to me :)

Waiz 11-06-2011 08:07 PM

The rain stopped so I went outside and put on my daily driver front bumper setup and removed my car cover.

I was happy to see that the cover completely shielded the Z from the rain and she's still spotless wohoo!

I then drove to El Pollo Loco for dinner and got rev'd on by an R32 Gti :roflpuke2: I didn't even bother looking over and just :shakes head: instead

I have been a Chargers fan for 35+ years -- I have no idea why. They are killing me -- slowly.

Rivers is a mess this year. He may still be getting his yards but the turnovers are out of control.

Well, it took the Saints 42 years, so you shouldn't feel too bad. :tiphat:

Wash, clay bar, compound, swirl remover, polish and wax today. Six hours later and it's time for a glass of wine! But the Z looks better than the day I picked it up. I was reading the freeway signs upside down on the hood as I was driving home.

Skeeterbop 11-06-2011 11:09 PM

Washed it this afternoon, then went for a cruise with the local Z club. Had a great day :D

Waiz 11-06-2011 11:42 PM

I just bought a leather restorer called " leather food" I will report back my results after I receive it.

Caused an accident lol :)

I'm so mad that my blackberry was in the hatch in my bag or I would have taken pics

Some guy on a bike was riding by as I paked my car. I'm usually pretty aware of people checking out the Z...and he had a full on lock stare going on...he totally ran into a pedestrian lol.

I only laugh cause no one was hurt...the guy dusted himself off but wasn't too happy with the biker...good times lol.

Good morning, everyone.

Today, I drove the 370 to my office to get a feel for my Swift springs. I drive against commute so I was able to test out some quick lane changes and off ramp action. Of course I stayed below all posted speed limits and always used my turn signals.

Although a bit of a lame test, being commuting and all, I can report the following.

1. Ride quality is a bit bumpier, but that could be my imagination.
2. Turn-in is much more sharp and crisp
3. Lane changes and off-ramp driving are much flatter.

More later...

Have an excellent day.
