Up @ 6 am and gave my new Roadster its first wash. Yes, it is “black” & I know there are many more down the road!! This is my baby’s third day and it’s sunny and it’s going to be 90’F today in New England! I’m listening to Iron Man 2 sound track………AC/DC “Back in Black”!

^^ huh, raceday2 sounds/looks like fun.

no Z action today, but i did order up a set of SR35's black/closed yesterday. im going to be sandwiching a 5mm spacer with no stud replacement so i need steel lugs instead of the duralium or watever it's called used by Titek.

anyone want a set of near-new condition black Titeks? :yum: i have 20pcs barely used (put through only one cycle at 80ft/lbs with Snap-On torque wrench) and brand new 4pc? 5pc? spare.

I installed Swift springs. Took quite awhile, going back and forth to Taco Bell and Walmart. They look great. Not easy to install. Passengers side makes popping sounds that are extremely annoying and can't figure out where the problem is....I can't feel the popping in the steering so I think everything is tight but who knows.

kenchan 09-22-2011 04:22 PM

humm... check with alchemy cause i think he installed his and no noise...

You may need to rotate the spring.

Stopped over a fellow 370 owners house today. Went to show him how you can switch between dif tuning maps on my UpRev, one prob, I was unable to cycle thru them!! It just stopped working. Well guys... Sorry I've been absent lately...but this all happened in a flurry. Just started looking and shopping last week, tho I've always been shopping and keeping eyes open. Anyways offer came I couldn't refuse, and after research and test driving it, I traded my z in for a new (yet to be built) 5.0.

Uh oh let the flames begin lol.

Before u do though, just know these few facts....

1. I've always been an infiniti Nissan and Honda fan. I've always tended to frown on domestics. But i tried to go in to this with an open mind and no preconceived notions, and i walked away truly impressed. So impressed in fact, I wanted to sign after my test drive lol.

2. I wanted a car i could drive my wife and kid in and still have fun. I couldn't do that with my z. This need is what started it all. I enjoyed my z but family comes first.

3. That 5.0 was really THAT good. Truly. I have no regrets.

Thank u for all ur input. I hope to stick around the forum and hopefully still contribute to the forum.bi still love the zs and they're great cars but i had to move on.

Yeah thanks onzedge and happy... Sorry it may have seemed like out of the blue. But been quietly looking and just decided one day to test drive. I got tired of always leaving my family behind when I drive. I discovered that tho I love my hobbies, I love it more when i am able to do it with the people I love.

But i hope to stick around. Will post pics when I get it. I can post pics of what i test drove...lol... Same color...Hehe

happytheman 09-22-2011 10:44 PM

Wasn't really out of the blue. You had mentioned something a couple of weeks ago I think when Red__Zed finally made his move to a 5.0. It was to be expected. No worries mate..it's just a car after all. We can't expect everyone to remain brand loyal! :)

Nothing special-- Was on my way to school & I hit 1,111 miles. Lol. On top of that, a convertible 350z tried racing me, so I just toyed with him since he couldn't keep up.

G2Z,

I wish you all the luck with the new 5.0. Make sure you keep us updated on any work or experiences you have with it. This might be a 370z forum, but I know I at least still enjoy seeing what people do to cars regardless of make.

Pretty soon no one is going to own a Z anymore lol

SPOHN 09-23-2011 07:48 AM

Packing my car up getting ready to leave to Z1

onzedge 09-23-2011 07:57 AM

^^^ Very cool -- I wish it were closer to me.

Masa 09-23-2011 08:11 AM

Drove the Z to work today after slumming it in the Altima for the past 8 days. Could not drive the plebeian-mobile and had to mix it up. :p

I have the timing on all the traffic lights to and from my commute to work memorized and the Altima just did not have enough punch to make the time cut offs.

A good example is this one red light in particular that I know there's no way to avoid. As soon as it turns green and I turn left onto the road, if I travel slower than 55mph I will hit the next light as it turns yellow and will have to stop. However, if I travel at 60mph or higher i will easily make it past the second light on a green and see it transition into yellow through my rear view. The Altima just doesn't have the punch like the Z does to get up to the average speed before that cut off happens.

Dunno if I should be :) or :( that I actually have the timings of lights memorized...

Saw a boring gunmetal grey 5.0. Makes me glad that I don't have to worry about needing a back seat. Did remind me why our Z's look so damb awesome and individual. :ughdance: Have a great Z 1 spohn.

What did I do with my Z today? Nothing! Well, ok, I stared at my empty 3rd stall garage and wasn't too sad :)

hehe. Thanks Red.

I went in there debating if I should get kona, black or candy red. I saw the kona parked there, 1/2 in the sun, 1/2 in the shade. In the sun, it was metallic deep blue. In the shade it was blackish almost purple. I knew then I wanted (needed) kona :)

I also know what you mean now when you say the paint quality is better on the Ford than the Nissan... I agree.

Thanks Nick. Yes, I love all cars... I made sure I went into this with an open mind. I can honestly say, imo, I like the stang more. Simple as that. Everyone is entitled to a choice, and that's mine :) But yeah, I will keep you guys updated.
