Making a right turn into my community I "almost" got rear ended by a genius texan driver. It just doesn't stop with this car. Its the only thing I hate about it.

pokeyl 09-27-2011 11:43 PM

Went for a test drive on my HKS coilovers and DW tires. Results were very good.

Drove over to my buddy's place and we installed my z1 25 row oil cooler. he didn't have the right sized tool to do the spacers though. We ended up with 4 push pins which I cannot find the holes for, I hope this won't affect anything.

Anyhow, if anyone in the OC knows a good inexpensiv
e place to do my spacers (extended studs), let me know as I have no tools or garage and my friend lives pretty far.

Seriously, I've decided I'm not driving it to NJ anymore. The last time I went there, a truck kicked up a chunk of tyre that bounced off my hood, taking a chunk of paint with it.

It was a freak accident doing like 20 mph, it happened in split second. The freaking SUV in the right lane impacted the car in front of him. I'm in the left lane, the traffic is slow and it seems that when he impact the car in front of him his SUV slighty jump to my lane as I was passing and I clipped his rear driver bumper with my front passenger side.

Of course the SUV suffered minor damage to the bumper and my car got the worst of it. I didn't expected that much damage at that speed. I have been so pissed that I haven't want to talk about it.

I won't be there. We planned our entire fall around Ztoberfest... and they f'n changed the date two weeks after we paid for our WV trip. I am still pissed about that. :shakes head:

No!

Yes.... :shakes head:

They got scratched the second I put them on. I was just tired of dealing with the thin *** weds coatings so I'm doing something about it. Pics coming soon.

The paint on the weds is about as good as it gets though. Same thing happens to other wheels too unless you use special sockets or wrap your socket with masking tape where you leverage the bore hole. I just give it 3-4 layers of tape if my protective sockets are in use on another ratchet. No scratches. :D. Another reason why I usually roll in my wheels loose than bring the car to the tire store (unless tirerack cause they know how to handle wheels not to scuff them).

onzedge 09-28-2011 10:05 AM

I always wrap my socket with painter's tape before I get it near my wheeld.

Good morning, Mr. Kenchan. :tiphat:

Those are very nice sockets.

No Z action today, again. Spending today and tomorrow with Microsoft folks and then heading to San Diego/Coronado for goofing off and a convention. I am going to Coronado where I spent Jr High and High School years -- for the first time in many years. Look for pics in the DSLR thread next week.

True... although the rear 10.5 +15 wheel does have an extremely sunk face which makes it harder than most wheels to bolt lugs on. The coating is great for resisting dust and stains, but I could chip it off with my fingernail.

Oh well, hopefully won't have much of an issue from now on.

I have the same rear wheels as you with the the RR face. No issue on mine. Hope your new paint goes unscuffed. :)

No Z action today. Need to wash my G later on tonight. Got leaves and worms caught in the wheel well
Ewww.

SPOHN 09-29-2011 10:39 AM

Trying to find someone more local to give my car a alignment. Out of 8 shops no one will touch it. Guess I'll have to just drive 70 miles one way back to where it originally was done.

Masa 09-29-2011 10:41 AM

Public schools are off today. That means no traffic. This means I can drive the Z to work and enjoy my commute.
