I have the Bel RX65 and it has saved me many times, im not sure how he got me but he did say my average speed was 80. I typically dont speed much but 80 comes up without me even noticing it.

They were policing that street heavily that day, 3 laser cops and a few more patrol cars within 10 miles. Dont speed on the WestPark Tollway if you are in the Houston area!

After all the paperwork was complete I asked him how he got me. He explained that they run around with their radar in passive, stand-by mode and that, with a single push of a button, can get an instant read on your speed.

The 9500ix is still a great unit and has saved me on many occasions.

Yeah I guess our detectors aren't fool proof, but usually when I hear a beep, I slow down. False beeps have virtually been eliminated on my route.

Have fun this weekend and remember my motto... "No tickets and not body damage!"

Had my first experience with a "camera ticket" a couple of weeks ago. It was in my name but it was my son's car. They had stills printed on the letter of him making a right turn on red without the "stop" part. They also had a great quality video online to view with laser verified speed posted in the corner. There was no doubt he was guilty. In our area, it cost him $50 and no ding on your license or insurance. You could fight it if you want but he would have lost.

haha thanks Beach. We'll be safe. Yeah I forget Virginia doesn't allow detectors eh. But they only if you get caught with one??? What's the fine??? lol...

I don't hate them, but the guys that drive them often times are asshats and think they are the fastest thing on the road. I had a guy pass me last week in one and he looked over like he wanted me to run him and I just laughed and shook my head... so he takes off and VERY slowly gets down the road. I looked over at my Fiancee and said "is that really all that car has?"

Neither of us were impressed.

LunaZ 09-09-2011 03:44 PM

Picked her up with the new rubber on. Those RE-11's really look the business!

Rear camber ended up at -2.8° on the left and -2.4° on the right. I was surprized that the before and after measurements only improved .4° on either side.
Guess a canberra kit is in my future.

Will it be a real Canberra kit? Or a fake one?

Hoping to do a little driving Sunday. I will be celebrating FREEDOM in the US. :usa: As a New Yorker and VFW qualified USMC vet I appreciate the job all current and former Armed Forces Service members do and did.:tiphat: Shake the hand of a service member Sunday. Also I'm an Asst. volunteer fire chief. Don't forget the fire and police personel keeping us safe. Have a great weekend and don't forget those who have and are securing our freedom.

Drove home to stay the night, washed the Z as well as taking 2 hours polishing out the deep scratches left from the guy who thought it was funny to walk on my car. Most of the RIDS (deep scratches) came out but the a few of the worst are around 90% removed, mostly unnoticeable to everyone except me. It isn't worth removing that much clearcoat to achieve the last 10%.

LunaZ 09-10-2011 07:22 AM

Why "Canberra" is suggestion on my phone is beyond me.

Just curious...but have you all ever been sent to the Jiffy Lube section of your Nissan dealership when going in for your 15k Schedule 1 Maintenance?

$42 for wiper blades and $64 for new air filters?? I think not.

happytheman 09-10-2011 08:06 AM

And now they found a nail in my front driver's tire. The SAME wheel that was just recently repaired. Let's hope they don't damage the freshly painted wheel! :(

Good luck pal. I am sure it will be allright.

Beautiful Saturday morning. Getting ready to pull the Z out of the garage and head over to my parents house. My father has decided that his cycling days are over. He has a BMW K1200LT that I used to borrow a couple of times a year. He hasn't started it since last year. I called him up to tell him I would come over to help him get it running so he could show it if he liked. He said "Well, I have decided to get rid of it because I am giving it to you." I was absolutely floored. I think it really makes him happy to be in a position to be able to offer it to me. He told me years ago "When I go, there won't be any money...but you will get some really cool toys." Thanks pop!

Nope, I wish it was a joke but alas, it is not. Here are some pictures, fairly self explanatory as to what happened. The deepest scratches were on the quarter panel where they used it to step up onto the hood and the first foot print on the driver's side of the hood.

^^^ Unbelieveable. I am very sorry that you have to deal with the efffects of dirtbag, lowlife, worthless people who do absolutely bad stuff like this.

Let's all get together, try to find these guys and then apply a bit of justice -- this comes to mind:

Nope...so sorry to say this...but you're wrong. :shakes head:

My front passenger side wheel has been damaged once again...but this time to no fault of my own! I TOLD the guy that the paint was two weeks fresh and asked him if he had a touch-less tire remover. He stated that he did not, but that the one that they had was brand new machine that would not damage the wheel.

I inspected the wheel before driving away...and damnit....wouldn't you know...it's scratched to Hell once again. So...I have to go back to the dealership next Sat to get this repaired. :shakes head:

I'll post pictures later.

That freakin' blows!!! So sorry to hear. There is only one shop (one tech actually) that I trust with mine. He has taken care of the Work VSXXs on the TT and the Roadster wheels with no damage. Last time he apologized for taking so long "but didn't want to take a chance on scratching them." I told him that was exactly why I kept coming back and he got a big tip! Best of luck with your repair.
