Disappointingly Nissan was not represented at all. Hopefully in Geneva later this year. Enjoy the pics: Show venue, Aston Martin Virage, Lambo Gallardo Trofeo, 458 Spyder Ferrari!

Roads were nice today and cruised for a while at 220kp indicated - 217kph(GPS) or about 135mph on the Autobahn in a speed zone. Not a bad weekend!

QUOTE=gurneyeagle;1318879]I think you WIN today![/QUOTE]

Nah we are all winning if we drive a great car like this. Living and working here is great and having the ability to travel at speed is fun. But the real fun is on a twisty challenging road or track. Straight line speed is fun when you are accelerating to get to a number/speed, but believe it or not at 190kph I was almost falling asleep once. It feels like 80mph after a while :)

That sounds like waking up thinking it is Christmas Day.

mrcoolguyface 09-19-2011 09:53 AM

Today

I had All the glass (- the windshield) tinted at 15%, and put on the dual pop chargers.

kenchan 09-19-2011 11:19 AM

no z action today. still raining... my G needs a wash now. :( i hate washing cars... such a waste of time just to make it look normal. lol

:tiphat: Not me. I love washing cars. It is something very primal to restore order. To me, it is like mowing the lawn -- from chaos to alignment brings peace.

Nice! I really want to tint mine at some point, most likely 30% all around (minus the windshield).

sounds good!

i just dont have time to be spending on things that just brings it back to where i started i guess. i like progress. not getting pushed back and then working to get back to zero and restarting. :)

ProfessorDave 09-19-2011 11:47 AM

I washed both the Z and the Mazda last night. Both will remain shiny for another 12 hours or so (more rain forecast here, too). But it did mean I drove a clean Z to work this morning!

Masa 09-19-2011 12:11 PM

Gave both the Z and the Altima a bath. Then I broke out the porter cable and put two coats of wax on each.

Got out of a speeding ticket. No lights on top of the cop car, but the antennas and type of car gave it away. He pulled me over because I slowed down really fast right next to his car on the highway. He didn't have the chance to clock me so he gave me a warning. Was going 80 in 65.

Ditto, I hate washing cars. Takes too damn long just to make it look like it should. Hence why I have been rollin around in a filthy Z for the past week or so. The thing I hate most is I dont have a garage. Ill spend hours cleaning it only to have it lookin disgusting within a day or two.

SPOHN 09-19-2011 01:45 PM

Bought a windshield mount to hold my camera at the track this weekend. Hope it works good. Also got a new fold out chair for all the activities this weekend at Z Nats. Can't wait.

Cool beans. :driving:

Finally live in a house [rental] that has a hose! Was able to simply hose off the car, do the water sheeting method afterwards, and lightly dry off. It's not detailed clean, but it looks 95% clean. A little tire shine later and it looks great for just 20 minutes time! Vacuumed the car, too. 20 mins and it looks nice... for another day until it rains :o

By the way... when it gets to be freezing temps.. does that mean I can't use the outside hose anymore?

TheGreatOne 09-19-2011 02:59 PM

Turtle Wax Ice Detailer on the car this morning before leaving for work since I had some dust etc from driving through constructions zones last night. Love that product.

I swear my neighbours must think I'm the most anal person around, always shining it lol

Clear day, after work taking the "long route" to get to my volleyball game tonight. Needs a vaccum when I get home.

My neighbors tell me I am OCD as wel. I wash the 370 at least once per week my other Z, Echo, F-150 often. My kids and their friends wash and detail vehicles in the driveway also.

If the water comes out of the hose (i.e. it is not frozen inside) you are good to go.

You're welcome.

That 45+ Minutes I spend washing my Z are are usally the most peaceful 45minutes of my day, very calming.

Detailing has quickly become a joy for me

kenchan 09-19-2011 04:21 PM

the 25min i spend washing my cars i am going so frikken fast to get done with it without swirling the finish my neighbors know not to talk to me while im at it. :D hahaha.

wash 12min, dry 10min (including wheels), dress tires 2min, 1min to clean up hose and shopvac (my blow drier).

You should have the water shut off to prevent the pipes from freezing, right?:ughdance:

For me the process is: rinse, wash with Meguiars Gold wash, rinse, dry with water magnet microfiber, wipe wheels and inside door jambs/sills and then apply tire dressing (Meguiars Endurance every other wash). Finally, she goes into the garage and I cover her with her nice fleece car cover for the evening. The total time is about 30 - 40 minutes. I can't help myself. I have to start the week with a clean car. I do this at least once per week.

It is some kind of sickness or perhaps I am acting out some kind of childhood trauma that is locked in my subconscious -- I don't know. I think I need professional help. :icon17:

I suppose so. It rarely goes below freezing here.

QD and put the cover on. Another week of biblical rain for the Northeast.

cptspeed 09-19-2011 07:16 PM

Orederd my forged specialties rims. Love bugs keep me from driving her in sept, so she sits.

 I too must drive a clean car so this part we share the same sickness. I just hate washing cars. QD is okay. Something about pulling out the hose makes it feel like a huge deal. actually I hate how my finger tips dry out when I wash cars. It screws up my keyboard playing. Maybe this is why I hate washing cars. :D

I am in the same boat. If given the opportunity I will wash my cars every weekend. Something about a dirty car rubs me the wrong way. :tiphat:

Talk to me about your shopvac: what kind do you have? I'm still in need of getting something new, cuz the handheld I'm using just doesn't cut it.
