yep, it wouldn't matter. in fact, in my pict where i compare the one from the car and the new one, the one from the car is in it's locked position as it should since the car was turned off.

no issue removing it as you would pull the unit off vertically after removing the 2 bolts. :)

KingZee 12-26-2011 05:57 PM

kenchan that thing bothers you that much? It's pretty unnoticeable to me.

not sure on yours, but mine is pretty rough... like almost burrs of steel. i think im going to mask off the brushed part and carefully just file it down. :D i wore gloves while driving today and it literally shredded it a little.

looks moronic here but this is because i didnt feel like working on the knob today and just placed it over the nismo knob's rubber piece. :icon17:

the knob feels good, but the decorative strip in the middle eats at my hand... any way to smooth this thing out a little without using sand paper or a file?

Mr.kenchan

nice hand-warmer on a hot summer day.

I had the day off again so I motored over to a surf spot I haven't been to in a very long time, surfed for about two hours and took this pic afterwards

 how much you want for lessons? I'm a good swimmer.

pedZ 12-26-2011 06:58 PM

Installed splash guards today since they were not on the car when I bought it from the dealer. The Z is ready for some spacers now.

http://photos.eddiedelgado.com/photo...-957ZNzK-M.jpg

I also played around with some 25mm spacers I had to see what they would look like on the stock rear wheels. A little too much for my taste. I'm thinking 15mm front and 20mm rear. Or even 10mm front and 15mm rear.

It's not the swimming part that you will need to manage it's the unrelenting ridiculously cold water.

kenchan 12-26-2011 09:59 PM

martin- looks good.

waizzz- nice scenery! :D

hey so i filed the decorative part of the PWJDM knob a little bit (actually, it took me like 1hr not to scuff up the brushed area. :D

and the mt.fuji didn't look bad so i just kept it like this. i put a little plastic ring i had in my parts bin to raise the boot a little bit. perfect fit. :p (crappy droid pict...)

kenchan 12-26-2011 10:02 PM

pedz- those splashguards are looking good!

yah, if i was to do it i would do 15/15 spacers. im currently running ET33/ET15 (while the rear is 10.5 on my weds), imho the offset looks perfect for stock height.

Funny that you mention that... I was just thinking about doing a 15/15 setup. It seems like even the 20mm would stick out a little too much on the rears. Thanks for the input!

hey thanks! :D

yah, especially when you have the rear splash guards on running 20mm pushes out the inner side of the tire out too far making the splash guard look out of place when looked at from the back. i tried it myself when i had the stockers on and didnt like the look.

if you're lowered then it's a different story. :)

btw, if you do 15's in the front you'll have to use the Type1 stud replacement type spacers.... or be willing to cut the stock studs shorter if you use Type2 bolt-on types.

Nice! And your thoughts on the clutch now?

it feels the same. :icon17: ;)

no, it feels much better, actually. i thought i was driving my G almost. my 04 G's clutch is heavy but very easy to tell where it's engaging.

i have a couple misc springs in my parts bin so i will see if i can find one that will fit at least close to it. i just put the faux piston together without the springs and i didnt notice lateral play someone mentioned. i have like a 10mm travel of dangling pedal.

I have the century spring on mine and it feels great and gets rid of the 10mm travel. I drove down to century spring and asked him if I could buy one and he just gave it to me lol

Well that worked out nice Kingzee. I'm using the century spring too. It helped out with the feel of the clutch a little bit. Definitely a good mod.

 ...did you drive down there or ordered it online? It was only a few miles away from me so I just went there to avoid the minimum order on their website and it seemed like he didn't even feel like selling me just one so he said "take it, we give away samples all the time"

I got in on one of the group buys on this forum. I didn't realize they were local. Otherwise I probably would have done what you did.

By the way, one of these days we are going to cross paths. I am right next door to you in Burbank.
