@Alchemy

Post up a pic of your car and I'll try to Photoshop something for you.

Just my 2 cents.

I have yet to see a pair of eyelids on a 370 that I thought looked good. Sorry.

kenchan 08-16-2011 09:11 AM

i think the outer curvy part of the stock lamps was suppose to kinda give it that eyelid look... kinda like how the fangs look like it has a splitter and posts....

Nick911sc 08-16-2011 09:18 AM

Most likely will be ordering my exhaust today :)

What ya getting?

Nick911sc 08-16-2011 09:32 AM

berk

Red__Zed 08-16-2011 09:33 AM

Sorry to hear that :rofl2:

kenchan 08-16-2011 09:34 AM

berk makes more powah or something? invidia sounds great... but nowhere near the greatness of my Fujimura muffler though. :yum: :icon17:

Nick911sc 08-16-2011 09:34 AM

Why don't you like the berk?

Not that I don't like it, they're just very overpriced IMO. They add weight, and the power is about the same as the Gemini.

Nick911sc 08-16-2011 09:39 AM

I'm not really paying much more than the invidia for it? How much are you assuming the berk goes for?

New they're over a grand, used usually 7-800.

BeachZTT 08-16-2011 09:58 AM

Sweet!

I am still up in the air. I like the look performance of the FI style but like the numbers and the sound of the Gemini too... Berk is definately a frontrunner as well.

Nick911sc 08-16-2011 09:58 AM

I'm thinking of possibly hooking up some recording equipment to record the exhaust. lol not sure how an sm57 will work out with an exhaust though

FromG2Z 08-16-2011 10:01 AM

Nick, Berks are nice..... but for me, it looks a little too much like stock. For some folks that's a good thing. For me, I wanted something that looked a little flashier than stock, but not overly flashy like F.I. or those other ones with individual cans (ala Ark and HKS and F.I.).

Also, what swayed me away from Berk was the price.... I can't tell you how much I paid for my Invidia, but let's just say I got it for wayyyyyyy under what most folks pay for it here ;)

And lastly, I read a few posts from some folks about the quality issues with Berk, as well as long lead times, and poor customer service. No such issues with Invidia. In fact, buddy of mine has a G37X, and he is working with the owner to get the first ever invidia exhaust made for him, at no cost... FREE. Very cool guys.

So if it's not too late, cancel your order and go with Invidia... ;) (I keed).

FromG2Z 08-16-2011 10:02 AM

Beach.... Invidida FTW. Only way to go. Hands down the BEST feature on my Z. Did you see my post about my morning yesterday? How I listened to my exhaust in symphony??? hehe...

lol, you'll probably pickup too much wind noise if you're driving with it.

how about just using a small SD recorder mounted on your manfrotto tripod and just free rev? :) then edit the audio later on your computer.

wow, beginning to sound like DAW thread instead of DSLR. :rofl2:

Nick911sc 08-16-2011 10:05 AM

This is why I love this forum. Everyone has different setups and loves their cars to death! Uniqueness ftw

I have been looking for a remote mic for my Canon HF20 for the same reason. I have a suction mount for the windshield but want the mic somewhere else...

Love the new exhaust sound thread...:driving:

Beach, no problem... here was my quote about my Invidia's from yesterday:

I lowered the windows, felt the brisk 65 degree zero humidity air, and listened to my Invidia Gemini crescendo, as it sang its chorus with Nissan's VQ.... music to my ears. I then parked it at work, craning my neck to see her for those last few moments...all the way to the guard entrance. I love my Z. Nothing like starting out my day like that, ready to face yet another stress filled day and week :ugh2:

By the way, am also looking into buying a wired trigger for my D60. It's only 20 bucks! Does my D60 have the hookup for it already?!?!?!?!

Vegitto-kun 08-16-2011 11:27 AM

went to work and cleaned her up abit.

ah Z i love you.

That is what I am talking about! I have to admit that I drive much more aggressively when I can hear that note. :driving: I also have to admit that regardless of which Z I drive to work, I find myself taking that last peek before I go into the door. It's sad, I know.

I do not think the D40, D40X, and D60 support a wired trigger. My D50 does not either. I bought a wireless remote off of ebay for $1 plus $4 shipping (actually bought two, one for my wife) and the one we didn't lose, still works today! Best $5 I spent on that camera. I would set the timer for 5 sec and hit the button. Worked every time.

I personally like the stock look of the berks. 10 years from now, i think i would regret such an aggressive set up like the f.i or invidia or any twin fart cans. Dont get me wrong, those exhausts are stellar but to each their own. Plus, its not like berk dont have good gains or sound terrible. Good decision nick
