Backed her out of the garage so my wife could drive her to work. Ordered a set of Swift Spec-R springs.

kenchan 04-08-2011 02:10 PM

ive never had the situation where i'd lend my wife my cars so never understood how it would feel. :) so do you folks feel that you both own the cars?

all my cars only have my name on the title...and my wife never asks to borrow them. even the dd we bought for the wife has my name on it. i rarely drive it other than to move it out of the way when i pull out my cars from the garage. :D

Drove down to Birmingham for the race weekend.

Masa 04-08-2011 08:14 PM

Got around to installing my new headunit - oem unit was just not cutting it!

Posted pics in the audio section of final results!

Drove across the border (Upstate NY) to pick up my Fast Intentions Exhaust. I use this shipping place to send a lot of my purchases too, save a lot of money instead of having it chipped to Canada.

Nice 45 minute drive...making sure I have my clear bra on before my next long drive..

Took some pics,

JUst got re-elected 2nd assistant fire chief. I lost it for a year so I didn't have my Z when asst before. Trying to decide if I want to bling my Z with head and tail light strobes. Have a dash LED red light and might just add a second one and mount it on the little air deflector window in the back. Don't think I'll mount a siren or fire radio. Anybody else that is a chief ?:ugh2:

So I'm not the only one who does this.

Didn't get to drive her today but will be going to the Cars and Coffee meet in Vegas tomorrow morning. I've also been looking at drop-in air filters. Hmmm... HKS or K&N...?

Lemers 04-08-2011 11:50 PM

Took her to work and everyone called me out for how dirty it was. So I took her home and hand washed her.

BeachZTT 04-09-2011 08:43 AM

Yep, the Z's are both, both of ours (despite the fact that my plate on the Z32TT says AZ4HIM). That plate is left over from a time when she had a 2+2 that was pretty modded with the plate AZ4HER. She is almost as much an enthusiast as I am and supports the cars and the mods.

She doesn't drive the TT much now at all because I put a little bit bigger wing on it and she has a difficult time seeing out of the back window...she's short. She is an exceptional driver and has tracked my TT. The vert was a purchase/decision we made together from the beginning. She works as hard as I do (if not, harder) and the cars are a one of the passions that we share.

We had 4 Zs unitl about two months ago but sold the Z32 2+2 and a Z31 that my daughter had wrecked. Now we have 2 Zs and and XTerra. I drove all three of them to work this week.

That works for us but I have plenty of friends that have a situation similar to yours and it works for them. :driving:

Sat in it and talked to the navigation lady to program in some destinations for tomorrow's road trip.
Sometimes I go to places that are too new to find on the navigation system, so I like to make sure before I leave the house.

Took my Z for a short ride. Went into town to buy new wipers. I had to replace them because while putting on my black gauge overlay I hit the wiper stalk and the passanger wiper got broken by the car cover that I left partially on. Enjoyed the ride and the looks. Turned a whooping 1400 on the odo. Oh I did the paddle shifter mod installing small bumpers to the back side of them to reduce the play. :tiphat: A good day. My trunk still has the 4 holes for the spoiler, have to get my spoiler painted so I can install it.

Baer383 04-09-2011 07:12 PM

When and did my alignment today,I put Swift Springs,SPC front & rear camber arms.
My car was really out of spec after these mods, but I could not have gotten it back in to spec's without the arms.:tiphat:to SPC for making a good quality part.

kenchan 04-09-2011 08:05 PM

Washed salt off my Z, blow dried her wheels and suspension, brakes and a quick wipe down. Finally got rid of the light coat of salt caked in the wells. :)

Going to motor her tomorrow. :D

Still waiting for my Swift springs to arrive. I am hoping to keep the front camber in as close as possible to my current set up without hasving to shell out $$ for front control arms. Already have the rear camber kit w/toe bolts. SPC does make some good front control arms. Had them on the 350z and they fixed my 1.3' drop from H&R spprings. If I get close to OEM w/o control arms, I will be happy.

Be interested in seeing your alignment spec printout sheet. Maybe post it up on the Swift spring thread.

SPOHN 04-10-2011 11:27 AM

washed and wax

LunaZ 04-10-2011 11:37 AM

Gave it a half-a**ed wash with the pressure washer and leaf blower.
I still haven't got the hang of drying the car with the leaf blower, but it's definitely great for getting all the water out of the crevices around the lights, mirrors, etc.

Loaded it up with some crap.
Road trip after I eat something.

onzedge 04-10-2011 08:10 PM

Gave her a wash last night and covered her up. I said so long this morning at 0400, went to the airport and flew to Atlanta for Microsoft Convergence. A long lonely week is ahead with no Z.

OldGuy 04-10-2011 08:59 PM

Hand washed her and sat in my driveway soaking in the 80 degree Western PA sunshine, while admiring my red Z and enjoying the doo-wop music playing on her stereo. Then took wifie for groceries and got 5 thumbs up from folks in and around the mall parking lots. Life's good...

Tauruszguy 04-10-2011 09:09 PM

Wash and a quick detail with Meguiar's... and then the most important mod of all......http://www.the370z.com/members/tauru...323-decal2.jpg

spearfish25 04-10-2011 09:16 PM

Took the Z yesterday to go look at Porsches and Loti (Lotuses?). She forgave me for looking at the 'other girls' and still knows she's the one for me.

Mt Tam I am 04-10-2011 11:04 PM

Washed and applied Klasse acrylic then sealed it.

delusional 04-11-2011 12:18 AM

went to her first meet! :happydance:

2004YZFR1 04-11-2011 12:22 AM

I drove to and from work, then ordered some parts when I got home. I got the illuminated kick plates from Fred Beans, K&N filters from Amazon and HPS tubes from Corsport.

Can't wait till my stuff comes in! Hopefully can feel some extra power from the filters and tubes.

kenchan 04-11-2011 10:27 AM

been thinking about doing the hypertech (was it?) to remove the DBW delay...

im not interested in a fullblown uprev type dynotune.

98intrigue 04-11-2011 11:06 AM

I drove it to work and was saddened by how dirty it is. I'm about to take it home on my lunch break. It will get a wash sometime this week after the storms come through tomorrow.

JohnsZ 04-11-2011 12:50 PM

First of the Year

Finally the weather was nice enough to take my roadster out! First time I started it up since right after New Years Day. Turned over a little slow but started up no problem. After a few minutes on the road, I was again reminded of why I decided to keep my toy which I'm still paying for....at least for now! ;)
