good job 90ST!

no z action today, but did open up the garage to take a look at her. :p getting ready to sell my dd today so moved my kid's recaro booster seats into my G.

as soon as i get the mines rear lip i will order up the DSRL. :D then im done with the Z for a while.

after the DSRL i want to get a tiny makita 12v driver to use during oil changes. my 18v Milwaukee is a tad too big to use under the car to remove the screws for the G and Z's bottom covers. :D

kenchan 06-22-2011 10:47 AM

Dzel 06-22-2011 10:53 AM

Well I got a call from Insane Customs today. Gave me a quote to paint my front and rear valences and waiting for my TP's to come in.

kenchan 06-22-2011 11:24 AM

cool. wat are you getting painted again? :)

Dzel 06-22-2011 11:36 AM

The fang area of the front bumper and the area around the exhaust of the rear

chops 06-22-2011 03:09 PM

drove her to work yesterday, quick detailed her and drove to work today :)

i think ive said this too many times, but seriously...the oil i put in this thing is amazing. yesterday it hit 100 degrees and even though i was driving her as hard as i normally do, my oil temps do not see higher than 220. whereas before id be at 240 relatively quickly on factory fill.

oh and the tires are amazingly sticky in this warm weather :happydance:

Econ 06-22-2011 03:19 PM

Mr. Kenchan,

Consider your DSLR a once in a long time purchase and get as much performance as you can get. The Nikon D 7000 is getting great reviews and I would atke a look at it if I were you..

I was shopping for a DSLR and was looking at the Canon D60 (I have been using Canons since 1973 and am brand loyal). I went a little higher though and got the 7D and it is worht the extra bucks. Much beefier, better feel, performance, etc., and I expect this to be my last camera purchase for many years. IMO.

Mr. Kenchan

D5100 is cool for a nice starter. My dad always told me, among other things, "always buy a little more than you think you can afford". He may have been right, I don't really know. He also told me things like "stop or you will go blind", yet I see perfectly still.

The Shocker 06-22-2011 04:30 PM

Installed some different white LED bulbs in it and installing an in-cabin filter after work.

so i will buy the 5100 for $850 (was a little more than 700 :icon17:) and then like next year i'll end up getting the D7000 or D7100 anyway wasting $850... okay, ive been through this route long time ago with my musical instruments. lately i only buy flagship models and keep it for like a decade.

i still have time to think this through. :D

I didnt know much bout photography at all when I got my D90. Its way more camera than I needed. But thats whats great Im constantly growing into it. Everytime I use it I fig new stuff out. The manual looks like the Bible, yes, but dont be scared. Learn your basics and you will be taking great shots with ease. It will become a new hobby I assure you.

Kirkster 06-22-2011 07:19 PM

Had the AFR bung welded in before the Cat and installed the sensor. Now I just have to hook up the back end electronics to power the gauges.

You have (had) TWO Fits?!?!?!? holy cow!

As for the DSLR purchase, don't get intimidated by the different terminology you've read/seen. The DSLR is still essentially "point and shoot". The biggest difference is you zoom in and out with the lens itself (turn it with your left hand). The camera will do the rest. Just set it to "auto" if you want, and the pics will be stellar already, compared to a regular point and shoot.

Go for what you can afford. Any Nikon or Canon DSLR will do you good. You won't regret it.
