I've been in boston since Thursday, I love it here with my Z! Driving in tunnels is awesome. Car sounds so sick in there! Lots of fun.

:iagree:

Is going to be over 100ºF today and is only 10:40AM and is already over 91ºF.

Plus I have to complete all my college class assignments since this is the last week of class and during the week I'm too busy.

So the Z won't see any action until I come back from vacation in Aug.

Sounds like fun. I feel better I'm not the only one not motoring this weekend. :D

Cabin air filter.... about how often are we supposed to change this? I had my Z since October, with about 1800 miles total :) Is it more mileage or time dependent?

Both. Mostly depends on how much crap has accumulated in your car. If it is sitting and getting dusty on the inside, I'd swap it out.

Realistically, you probably never actually need to change it though.

I am not even sure the z comes with one from the factory. I am going to find out. There is a DIY thread about it. I am also unsure about how long you go before changing. Sorry, I guess this reply is on the "not too informative" side.

10s and 11s do. The 09s do not.

Red__Zed 07-23-2011 11:23 AM

if your idea of heaven includes hearing damage along with awesome sounds, that is.

:excited: It makes me want to do the trunk light, dome lights, and DTR lights..! I wonder if they are all as easy [no tools needed] as the license plate lights. (?)

moto_italia 07-23-2011 12:32 PM

New toys just added:
  • Borla Cat-back Exhaust
  • Z1 Post-MAF Tubes
  • AFE Dropins
  • Llumar CTX35

The Z feels so much better with the new breathing equipment! It's like she was being choked by the stock stuff. She can inhale and exhale now with much greater ease!

Would the cabin air filter from 10s & 11s fit in the 09s or are they somehow different? I followed the DIY I found on here a while back. Just inquiring for future reference. :)

Yep. There's a couple options that fit. I have the filter from some lexus in mine.

MarkeZ 07-23-2011 01:20 PM

Red__Zed:

Which Lexus model? Good to know there's another option.

I don't recall offhand. I can get back to you.

There's some good info in the DIY thread.

MarkeZ 07-23-2011 01:24 PM

Thanks a bunch! I'll just head back there and check it out.

BeachZTT 07-23-2011 01:54 PM

Beach- looks like a fun install. :D might even recommend you have the alignment shop install it so you don't have to drive out of spec to the shop. Its hard to get it exact without alignment machine.

Here's a list of interior micron filters that fit:
-Fram CF10157 <= in Z now
-STP CAF1766
-Purolator C35479
-WIX 24883

kenchan 07-23-2011 02:06 PM

Econ- very very nice!

Went for my first "weekend" rip in the car on a nice 32 degree Celsius day! Love the ability of this car so much. First car that I actually turn down the music in to listen to the engine roar.

Snapped a couple pics too... it's no camera like Kenchans, but hoping he likes the pics still :tiphat:

LunaZ 07-23-2011 05:27 PM

Figured out what's rattling on the driver's side rear of my car.
As I said before, I was real OCD about making sure the spring was oriented correctly, so it wasn't that. I'm embarrassed to say it's the brake caliper making the noises. I forgot to finish torquing it down. I blame my friend who came over to help (drink my beer). Everything I did before he got there is perfect LOL.
