Acutally, I used 16 bolts and nuts along the entire bottom of the bumper.

What was bolted on stayed. Everything else exploded.

wait, how did everything explode? did you hit something?

so the bolts and everything were all still in the bumper, however the plastic broke off?

Correct.

I ran through some road construction, hit a bump and boom... I was watching plastic in my rear view mirror come out from under my car.

The plastic part that was bolted to the bumper was there, but everything that stuck outwards broke off.

There wasn't anything in the road for me to run over, but it was a gnarly bump.

Econ 07-22-2011 02:42 PM

mother!

if this breaks off ill be mad. it was still $245. do you know how much yayo stuff can be bought for that

 use large washers if you can as your FRP can crack pretty easily not from just the install screw torque, but if you bump something while motoring. :)

I get home and it was just gone... It's a good thing they are cheap. lol

damn... :ugh2: but at least you know now it ain't going anywhere with 16 fasteners! lol dang... like you went trigger happy with your drill.. :rofl2:

FromG2Z 07-22-2011 03:34 PM

I'm still sporting my OEM lip thus far.... I've scraped it a few times, but hopefully it won't explode like the pics from the previous page.... lol.

I am however thinking of going with Swift Springs or Eibach's some time... I wonder how much I will scrape then?

No Z action today... heavy rains this morning. Wife and I going on a date tonight to see Cap America. If rain holds off, Zena comes out.

have fun out there G2Z! i still think the Ings will give you better clearance than the factory front diffuser. :)

thanks Ken...

So how you liking your INGS lip? no scrapes? Also, if I remember correctly you did a LOT of work to it prior to install, right? :icon14: I worry that I don't have the painting skills you do...

so far it's been great! no scrapes and i luv how it made the front look tight and finished. :yum:

yah, i did 3 levels of wetsanding after first filing off the resin where the top and bottom pieces were glued together, cleaned up the edges using enamel black paint, then used UV clearcoat (many coats), and polished to a nice factory shine at the end using my detailing gear.

i suppose you can have a bodyshop do the work for you for $100-150 or so.

I have Swifts and even though the drop isnt as severe as say H&Rs I scrape a lot. Def gotta be extra careful. When my buddies heard I was lowering it they thought I was crazy. Roads are pretty rough around here lots of dips and what not. I may end up trimming that piece and the two smaller ones in front of the wheels for a tad more clearance. If you are on the fence about which springs to buy def spend the extra $100 and get the Swifts. The change they have made in my handling characteristics is unbelieveable, especially for springs. More than worth the money.

BeachZTT 07-22-2011 04:53 PM

^^^ Second that on the Swifts!

I love this thread! You guys rock. I needed some Friday humor!!!

No roadster for me until early next week. Tires will be here monday and camber kit Tuesday. You can almost see the air in one of my rear tires. :)

Stay dry today. I miss summer thunderstorms. We just don't get them here.

onzedge 07-23-2011 08:15 AM

My Z work planned for the weekend:
  • Wash and interior clean the 370
  • Cabin air filter 370
  • Install carbs/intake and tune on the 240

That's about it. No motoring planned.

BeachZTT 07-23-2011 08:27 AM

TypeOne 07-23-2011 09:03 AM
