Default Z1 Motorsports Global Time Attack 370Z

Surprised there was no thread on this, but Z1 debuted their Global Time Attack 370Z project at SEMA 2019

Build write-up and video here:
https://www.z1motorsports.com/2019_370z_time_attack.php

Short summary, they started with a chassis that was the spare for another racing team, completely rebuild it from scratch. Literally tore it down and strengthened everything

As I understand it, it uses the VHR 3.7 bottom and a HR head, with custom management for everything. The wiring job made me want to cry just looking at the guy prep it.

ZE40s on Advan A052 tires
GTR brakes
V-mount turbo
Nismo diff and cooler
custom CAD designed aero (they list brake ducts but i don't see a good pic of them)
Nismo-branded SPL arms everywhere
3-way BC coils

Basically, if you had partnerships with the top builders, manufacturers, Nismo, and a half million bucks to throw at a race car, you'd get something like this
God-Speed, Rusty, Hotrodz and 2 others like this.

Nissan has several great concepts at SEMA. They are all awesome.

Love the GTR brakes, but too bad it’s running on Bosch ABS. I wish GTR brakes are plug-n-play for our cars.

As cool as it sounds to have "GTR" brakes, my understanding is they aren't even the best available option, particularly with a budget like theirs.

a full Brembo GT-R (not the factory version, the race version) would come with the appropriate brackets, 2 pc rotors, the proper seals, temp resistant materials, etc, all of which are better than any factory setup

but then again they also cribbed some GTR suspension arms or something too so who knows how different it all is

Those are all NISMO- SPL suspension parts.

Agree on not being the best available option for this car’s race purpose and budget. I suppose Nissan NA is footing part of the bill and wants to showcase Nissan related parts as much as possible.

I actually found it even more telling that Nismo diff cover was used instead of Z1’s own.

I think he was referring to the front knuckles and hub, they are from GTR.

Also interesting, rear 350z aluminum subframe was used too.

Why is it too bad? That brake system rocks if you have about 10k!

May have to do with adding the rear diffuser. That is the first of its type I have seen on a 370. Savannah Little runs one that looks like on her 350. I believe hers is an AJ Hartman.
